Pizza Mia has one of the best pepperoni pizzas I've had in a long time. The crust alone deserves a perfect score from me-crispy on the outside, light & satisfying on the inside, & exactly what I look for in a great slice.
I also tried the Italian sausage pizza. Once again, the crust absolutely nailed it, although I personally wasn't the biggest fan of the topping combination. That's more a matter of preference than execution, as the pizza itself was still well made.
I also had the beef empanada, which was decent, though it didn't stand out as much as the pizza. Price-wise, it's very reasonable with the times-for a large slice, & they'll heat it up for you, which makes it an excellent warm & quick meal option.
Located in Atwater Market, Pizza Mia is a solid spot for a quick & satisfying bite. There are plenty of other food options in the shelf to explore, but if Italian food is your vibe, this place is definitely worth checking out. I'll certainly be back to try more of their offerings.
We had an amazing lunch today at Pizza Mia at Marché Atwater. We ordered two slice of Pepperoni 🍕 with green pepper 🫑 & Fromage 🧀 each. It was freshly baked when we went inside & it's was so delicious. It is a big size pizza slice & warm. We thought of trying other pizza variety but this two slices were very heavy. Overall we were satisfied with the quality, quantity & at reasonable price. They do have sitting arrangement inside & outside patio. We preferred outside patio as today is a nice weather out there. Next time will come will definitely try other slices. For now, Merci Beaucoup 🙂
It used to be a great pizza place but has become an ordinary takeout place with expensive pizza. $10 for a slice of vegetarian pizza of a size of a paper plate. Not the greatest quality either :( Service is excellent, there is a variety of options, but there is a mismatch between the quality & the price of pizza.
One of the best pizzas we've eaten during our roadtrip through Canada.
The tomato sauce is natural, not some canned tasteless juice...
They're also loaded with ingredientes so price/quality is super.
We would definitely repeat if we had the chance.
This is a place worthy of going out of your way just to eat their food! What an opening line right? But it's true. I have had difficulty finding decent pizza restaurants serving quality ingredients, where you can actually see & taste the sauce, where the cheese is plentiful, & the toppings are delicious & plentiful as well as a crust you want to save for last. Well, Pizza Mia hits the spot. The place is quite busy on weekends when I went, & the line was long but it went by quickly as they really know how to move people around. Their food is displayed beautifully & in a way that prevents customer contamination as it's well covered yet you can see it - it actually reminded me of the type one can see in Italy with all the large portioned items like sandwiches, arancini, calzone, & so much more. I'm typically not a veggie pizza perso.n but I tried both of their varieties & was amazed at how fantastic it was, especially the one with the onions & tomatoes with zucchini & much more. Their slices are a very good size & hefty. Their arancini (Italian rice balls stuffed with cheese & deep fried) with a most delicious tomato sauce. Both the regular cheese as well as the ricotta & spinach were excellent & plentiful - a must to eat. So, two slices of pizza, two arancini, & one Brio side cake to $21.95, add the tax & your up to $25.25. Pre covid this would have been a slight less expensive I think - however in this marketplace I believe this is very good value given that the food is of such a high quality in every aspect. The atmosphere is actually cool for a market & makes it fun to watch all the people pass by, or go down the stairs near the cash register & there are some larger tables with more privacy. My hat is off to these restauranteurs for providing product & price to create good value to the point you yearn for more.
A bit pricy, & pricing isn't as clear as it should be. Pizza by the slice is sold in traditional points/ triangles, as well as rectangles, & small individual pizzas. Perhaps put prices on display case in front of each format? Place has been clean each time I have been there. It appears that Pizza Mia does a lot with the small space they have. There is a lot of selection. Nice to have a number of vegetarian choices available. As others have noted in their comments, there are issues from the start of the line when a person orders & the slice is taken from the display case, to the end of the line when a person pays & is given the slice. Multiple times when I go to pay, I tell them what I ordered & they go prepare another slice (which is a different pizza than I ordered) rather than bringing me what I ordered. It seems just giving customers a number to give to the cashier, & keeping the number with the slice(s) ordered; or some other basic protocol would be a very easy fix. This takes a lot of time when correcting the order & often correcting the bill too. As well as creating needless aggravation & congestion in a small space. It seems it would not take much for Pizza Mia to notably improve operations & overall customer experience.
