Absolutely loved this place! The staff is amazing, & the food was so yummy & comforting. If I could recommend one food item, I would recommend the chilaquiles, & for a coffee order, I would recommend the latte that comes with the mexican spices (& bonus tip- replace the regular milk with coconut milk).
It is definitely on the pricier end, the drinks were 8$ & the food was 25-26$, but I think it was worth it, considering the quality/taste of the food, the good customer service & the great vibe (loved the spanish music they had on, & the decor)!
The food is great. I loved the Mexican fusion idea. My issue was with the staff, they were extremely rude & pretty much kicked us out even though we had a reservation, nobody was coming in & there were plenty empty tables. The waitress also removed several of our plates & cups when we were actively eating or drinking from them. Honestly this was unacceptable, I completely understand the concept of leaving when there is a line waiting but this was completely uncalled for. We also stayed there for a bit over an hour so it is not like we were camping there either. For the price I would expect a way better service. Anyhow, first time & last time for sure

Absolutely delicious & amazing Mexican food! Every dish was full of flavor, fresh, & absolutely delicious! This is one of those places you keep thinking about after you leave. Because it does taste like true Mexican food.
On top of that, our waitress Jessica was truly incredible, amazing, super mega kind, attentive, & made the whole experience even better. Her positive energy & care really stood out.
We had such a great time & can't wait to come back. Highly recommend!✨

Just had an incredible experience at Piel de Canela in Montreal truly one of the most authentic Mexican spots I've tried outside of Mexico! The flavors, the atmosphere, & especially the service made it unforgettable.
We ordered the chilaquiles, which were absolutely perfect, & the pancakes topped with corn & popcorn such a fun & unique twist that somehow works so well. We also enjoyed authentic café de olla, full of warm spices & sweetness, & topped it all off with bottomless mimosas that kept the brunch vibes flowing.
A huge shoutout to Claire, who took such amazing care of us. Her service was warm, attentive, & made the whole meal even better. She truly elevated the experience.

A friend recommended me to try there because according to her (she's Mexican), this place is authentic. I went for brunch. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a gentleman who invited me to sit by the bar. He then showed me the menu & answers some of the questions I had. I then tried their papas benditas which consisted of 2 potato'hashbrown' topped with eggs, pork belly & mushrooms, chimichuri & chimichuri cream. To my surprise, it was incredible! The pork was done to the point it was easily breakable. The potato & eggs complemented well the brunch & the mushrooms were delicious. This plate brought me happiness on this day of STM strike! Service was excellent (I even got to see him prepare food for the day haha!)! If I had a bigger appetite I would've tried more. I guess it'll be for a second visit!
I came to have lunch today with my sister, we had the best time : the food is really good & different from what you can find in other mexican restaurants, & the staff are really nice & helpful when you have questions about the food or are hesitating between several options (shoutout to out waitress Anna, we had a wonderful time thanks to you !).
The salade Costena de Pieuvre (octopus) salad was an absolute dream. The combination between the little kick of the Mexican adobo & the crunchiness of the jicama with the sweetness of the pineapple, the freshness of the baby arugula!
As you walk in you get a kind & welcoming environment along with service. The environment has a cool & fun athletic to it along with some cute comfy chairs, they also have a nice outdoor patio area.
The waitress is kind & brings a smile to your face.
Me & my family had the'MENU DÉGUSTATION' along with a few drinks.

Starting with the drinks, they are nice, refreshing, bright & layered with love. The bar tender shows attention to detail & makes sure to shower every drink love & affection without fail, the colours & taste are next level bringing a great start to every meal.

Next the food, the taste was amazing, they accommodated my all nut & shellfish allergy without a complaint & with care, everything we had from the soup that was soft & flavourful to the slow cooked meat that was rich & just so delicious words could not express the flavour melting on my tongue. It all had its own unique flavour & taste along with texture that just brought a whole new light to the food. If I could kiss the chef I would. The food opened my eyes to a different way of enjoying Mexican cuisine & put me on a roller coaster of emotions & flavours that made a wonderful meal for me & my family.

Lastly the dessert it was a soft & creamy dessert that was executed with care.

Every design & taste brought a new sensation to my mouth & there was no lack of attention to detail, everything had care & love to it. I will be coming back & I do recommend that if you have or haven't been you come & try (or come back).

Is perfect Mexican modern style!! (& I'm a Mexican guy) everything it was good I were there whit my boyfriend in the bar the last Sunday & wow !! A great surprise!! In special Xavier & Ana both in the bar make us feel super good, definitely I will back! Thanks

Absolutely stunning food presentation matches the decor of this restaurant & its fun atmosphere. We loved exploring South American /Mexican food in this warm atmosphere.
Thoroughly enjoyed the food! Loved the Mexican ingredients. It's a good break from all the eggs Benedicts that every other brunch place serves.
The flavour combinations were soo good! Love the use of texture by adding crunchy & soft components in the dishes.

This is what the modern Mexican cuisine should be about. It maintains the traditional flavours & combines them with very interesting twists & textures to create masterful pieces. The food & beverages are excellent & the service is spot on. Definitely one of my favourite places.
I've always loved going there for lunch or to Caifan at night, the food is really inspired by Mexico, its ingredients & flavors, the service is amazing, friendly & professional, they forgot to put the salsa on a plate but they immediately fixed it. We just celebrated my friend's bachelorette party & everyone loved it! I will continue to invite people to this place especially when they want to try Mexican food.
I wasn't expecting to find great Mexican food in Montreal, but this place really exceeded my expectations. Even without a reservation, they were kind enough to accommodate us. Our waitress, Jessica, was fantastic - she welcomed us with Mexican bread & recommended café de la olla to start. The food was rich with authentic Mexican flavors, & Jessica's service made the experience even better. I'll definitely be coming back on my next visit, & I highly recommend checking it out!"
No quiero ser mala pero este no es un restaurante para clientes mexicanos o latinoamericanos que buscan algo referente a su país, no es ni mexicano, ni colombiano o peruano etc. Creo que quieren hacer algo "fancy" pero no funciona, pedí unos chilaquiles ( que no sabían mal) pero tenía cara de todo menos de chilaquiles, meten todo junto en un bowl y el resultado no es el esperado. Tienen un menú muy restringido y de verdad es muy caro lo que pagas por lo que te ofrecen. Mi esposo pidió una bebida con chocolate y especias pero yo no sé si ellos prueban lo que venden antes de meterlo en el menú pero que mal sabía, lo único que me gustó fue el pain dore pero, una vez más, muy caro ...en fin no pases por ahí si lo que quieres es comer bien, en cuanto a mi paso de largo y decepcionada 😒
