Pho Ngon is widely regarded as a top spot for pho in Montreal, with reviews praising a rich, flavorful broth, generous portions and good value, and dishes such as beef pho, grilled meat over rice, spring rolls and fresh herbs that feel authentic. Service is described as fast and efficient, though experiences vary with some customers noting rude or uneven service at times. The restaurant is cash only, with an on site ATM, and parking is available but can be tight during busy hours. A recurring note from diners is that post pandemic some aspects have changed, with some describing the broth as less deep or the portions smaller, while others still consider it among the best in the city. One critique mentions a strong cleaning product odor near the tables at lunch, which can overpower the flavors. Despite mixed points, many see Pho Ngon as a reliable, comforting choice that delivers solid flavors and quick service for takeout or dine in.
Pho!!! Amazing Pho! Ambrosia! This restaurant is off the beaten track for me but is definitely one of the best spots for Vietnamese soup. I highly recommend giving it a try.

best Bún bò Huế soup in Montreal, I've tried almost every Vietnamese pho restaurant in Montreal, whether it's in Chinatown, or St -Laurent street or Côte-des-Neige or Jean Talon. Here is the best. Best soup flavor, comes with braised pork knuckle, generous portions, fresh sprouts, Highly recommended.
Amazing Tonkinese soup but the service is horrendous & they expect you to still tip well regardless of the fact that the waiters are rude. The waiters barely look at you & come to your table saying "Ya" instead of hello. I wasn't allowed to choose where i want to sit. Furthermore, I had to ask at the counter for more water.
First thing first: food is fine. Good enough to come back, that's why I do.
This time I ordered take-out two large soups. Found 1 plastic container of sriracha & 1 of hoisin sauce. Judge me, but I am that person who dumps a ton of sauce in my soup. Horrible, I know.
So, I asked for extra hoisin. After paying, leaving tips, all honesty.
Answer: you got a full container. Can I have one more, please? (There's a battery of lid-full bottles on the table right in front of me).
& I got what you see on the photo.
I mean, c'mon now..... charge me extra sauce if you think it worth that much, but this...
I don't think it will stop me from coming again, but definitely left a bad taste.
& not even a single slice of lime...
My soup #7 grilled chicken was very good! 10/10. My husband took F comb. He expected more meat for the price.. I aggre. But if you feel like having great soups, you should try it!
