Review Summary

Pho Anh Vu is widely regarded as a standout destination for authentic Vietnamese cuisine in Montreal, praised for its generous portions, high-quality ingredients, and flavorful broths. Many diners highlight the excellent beef pho, the specialty Bun Bo Hue, and the popular beef rib pho as highlights of the menu, noting that the restaurant maintains a modern, clean, and beautifully decorated environment. While the service is frequently described as efficient and friendly, some visitors have reported inconsistent experiences with staff attentiveness and pricing that feels higher compared to other local establishments. Despite occasional feedback regarding portion sizes or service speed, the overall consensus remains positive, with many patrons considering it a go-to spot for a satisfying and comfortable dining experience.

Very tasty Viet food, we had the platter with rice paper wrap (excellent choice to try a variety of specialities, super yummy), bun bo hue special (amazing soup & all the different toppings) & special pho (right texture for the rice noodle, all the right aroma that you would expect for a pho). They have nice decor.
Service is good as well, very efficient.
Price very reasonable, too bad the beef rib pho is sold out (proves how popular it is), we will be back to try it.
100% would recommend 😋

I ordered the Combo S4 & was very disappointed. The website advertised the soup as a large portion, but what I received was very small. There was much more broth than actual ingredients, & barely any meat in the bowl. It honestly felt like I was paying mostly for the broth.

Check your order before leaving the restaurant 😅

Good tasting ph?: tasty broth missing the ph? fragrance & spicyness, rare meat overcooked, fresh firm noodle. Grilled meat & imperial rolls platter: good but not enough herbs & salad. Clean restaurant, quick service.

May 2026: change from 3 to 4☆
The ph? x??ng bò was plentiful, tendon around the bones cooked just right.

My favorite pho in Montreal. I always get the grilled chicken pho: broth & noodles with a separate plate of grilled chicken. The chili & onion jars on the table take the flavors to the next level.

Good food, more expensive than other Vietnamese restaurants probably because of the downtown rent.
Service was minimal to none. Only the girl server walks around the room looking for things to do. I had to raise my hand all the time for attention & often it's an adult coming out of the kitchen who notices me.
The grilled meat with noodles dish is served on a paper covered tray. Although stylish & rural tradition, it is not fun to eat on. Other restaurants always give you plates.
I would prefer to go to Ho Guom although service there is equally terrible.

Best pho. Noodle is fresh, beef is flavorful & tender, & soup is wonderful. The grilled chicken is great. I love the variety of drinks as well.

Was visiting Montreal & stayed in the apartment next to this, didn't try it until my last day & I was regretting not trying this earlier so I can haw it for everyday I was vacationing there.

Enjoyed the thicker noodles & the well rounded broth, you can tell it's made with high quality ingredients

Simply put their beef pho is the best bowl of pho I've ever had. Pho over the years has always been pretty consistent for me. Rarely disappointing but at Pho A the depth of flavor was like no other & the noodles were a standout as well. We were told by the server their broth is made over 3 days. My niece had the chicken pho which was a wonderful broth as well & came with a lemon grass dipping sauce for the chicken. I am heartbroken that the pho in my part of the world will never compare to Pho An

Very yummy spot! The service was extremely quick & the food was very good. The portions are huge & rice noodles don't taste good as leftovers so I would recommend buying a small, seeing as I couldn't finish it. The place was very pretty.
