Review Summary

Pho 88 draws praise for flavorful pho and home style comfort food with rich broth and generous portions at a reasonable price. The broth is frequently described as beefy and satisfying, with crowd favorites including rare beef and grilled meats, and the menu covers pho, vermicelli dishes, and fresh spring rolls. Service is repeatedly described as friendly, attentive and fast, creating a cozy and welcoming vibe. The atmosphere is noted as simple and low key, with easy access and a convenient location near transit, making it a reliable go to for pho on the Island of Montreal. Several reviews call it one of the best pho spots in town, though a few mention occasional inconsistencies such as side dishes or freshness of certain items, and some suggest a decor update. Overall, Pho 88 is seen as a dependable, affordable option that delivers big bowls, real flavor, and a satisfying dining experience for both regulars and first time visitors.

(Translated by Google) Pho 88, my favorite pho spot on the Island of Montreal! Authentic Vietnamese cuisine that tastes like a good home-cooked meal: always comforting! 🥰 The soup is always served piping hot (my ultimate comfort food!) & full of flavor, not to mention the grilled meats & spring rolls, a must-try every time I visit. The service is attentive & warm; I feel right at home every time, it's so cozy.

& the owner is really cute!

The service was good. I had a pho & spring rolls but my complaint is mainly about spring rolls that are just full of rice & the rice seems not fresh a bit hard. I thought it's supposed to be made with noodles.
The pho was good but they only give bean sprouts & no basil leaves or pepper with it.

Not so bad food but very far from the best or the most fresh

Pros: Decent portion of food for the price. They served ice cold water. Cons: Grilled pork wasn't tender. Their Imperial Roll isn't homemade. Their General Viet chicken was soft; not crispy. I can taste bite-sized flower batter with no chicken. Overall: It's not a bad place. The food is okay. It's just that I've had much better elsewhere for the same price.

Never seen such bad Pho in Montreal till I came here. I ordered pho with raw beef & tendon. Did not see any tendons, & the beef was already cooked, thick & tough, & had no flavour. The soup tasted like it had sweetner in it. The imperial rolls were the thinnest I have seen, & saw carrots & some beige stuffing only instead of the regular ingredients. It reminded me of the frozen ones you get at Asian grocery stores. The waitresses were no where to be seen. The payment terminal calculates tip after taxes. I will not come back. It's too bad as I was hoping to find a good Vietnamese restaurant in this area as there are none.

Very tasty pho & coconut Thai dishes. The spring rolls weren't the best option, but overall the taste was great.

Ordered the Tom Yum citronelle with shrimp & the shrimp salad rolls. The soup was a huge portion, the noodles came separately & were a meal by themselves. The soup broth was decent, not the best I've had but good. I would definitely give the other soups a try. The only issue I would have is the giant "baby corn" they were huge cobs! The salad rolls were amazing & I can't wait to try the pork ones! It came with lots of their delicious peanut sauce.
