Dans l'ensemble, Philémon Bar est perçu comme un lieu festif et agréable au cœur du Vieux-Port, avec une ambiance dynamique, une décoration sympa et un bar au centre, une musique variée et des boissons à prix raisonnables pour le quartier. L'affluence peut être importante et l'accès se joue en arrivant tôt; le service est généralement rapide et le personnel attentif malgré les foules, et les DJ sont souvent salués. Cependant certains avis mentionnent des espaces parfois trop bondés, des toilettes insalubres et du mobilier brisé, et l'absence de nourriture sur place peut obliger à prévoir autre chose; globalement, l'endroit demeure apprécié pour son cadre, ses cocktails et la qualité du service, tout en restant sensible à la réalité des soirées très chargées.
Malheureusement, cette place n'a pas bien évolué. On est passé un samedi vers 19h pour un verre: musique populaire des années 90, les toilettes ne sentent pas bons & sont insalubres, le mobilier est brisé... Dommage, c'était vraiment un super bar il y a quelques années.
I had a really great experience at Philemon! The ambiance was really great, nicely decorated, cool setup with the bar in the middle & good music! It was busy but the servers were working hard & took my order swiftly! Emily was particularly sweet & attentive, shoutout to her! I will be back :)
Came here last Friday & was able to get into the bar no problem. Service was terrible, food was disgusting, & very bad quality. I came back a couple days later with girls who unfortunately booked a reservation at this painfully awful place, & did I get receive a different experience? No! when I showed my legal, & of age ID, I was told that I was'too young'. Your goofy employee couldn't even tell me the'age requirement' to get in. This is a horrible business & I highly suggest you stay away unless you want to waste money & get terrible service. Truly the worst bar in Montreal. The owner clearly doesn't care about the business, as they do not care about the MULTIPLE 1 start reviews on their business. Probably because they're buying all of their 5 star reviews to cover the evidence. I've heard crazy allegations about the bar to, I would definitely avoid this place at all costs.
We had a very disappointing experience on New Year's Eve. There was no information or explanation on the website about any mandatory food service or special conditions for that night.
We had only reserved seats at the bar, & when we arrived, we clearly told the staff twice that our reservation was for the bar area. After we were seated, they poured champagne for us without asking or explaining anything beforehand. Then we were told that on that night, if you have a reservation, you must dine there & pay for food.
This policy was never mentioned on the website, nor was it explained to us in advance. As a result, we were forced to leave after only about ten minutes & still had to pay $44 for three glasses of champagne that we did not request.
Overall, the experience showed very poor management & communication. This behavior was unprofessional & disappointing.

If you like dive bars this is the place for you. Very nice bartender. Two gin tonics cost $28 as though it was a high end bar. Everything is very old & beaten up.
Had a blast here! Bar was LIT on a Wednesday night-even with the road torn up like a war zone for construction. Cozy dim atmosphere, beautiful & intriguing people, great music, lots of seating. Vibes were epic.
With such hospitable owners like Ariel & JD, & friendly bartenders like Antoine, can't help but feel the magic at this special little gem. Grateful to discover our new favorite hang out in the old port. 10/10

We went here on a Sunday night when the bar was basically empty. Getting there was tough with all the construction. The espresso martinis were watered down. At one point, the whole bar came together to enjoy a song (Iris), & the small bar started to create a beautiful vibe. Everyone was singing. Then the bartenders stopped the song halfway through, killing the vibe. Maybe we would have stayed if the vibes were good, but this bar does not know how to create or maintain one. We left as soon as this happened.

It's definitely worth a visit, though be prepared for a bustling crowd & slightly steeper prices.
Love this bar!! The staff is very friendly & they play 2000s music, the vibe is 10/10. The drinks are a bit pricey but that's the case everywhere. Will definitely come back
Only stopped in for a drink, but the staff was so nice & the music was not super obnoxious. Could be a little cleaner, but I think it's a bit of a dive bar anyway :)
We had a corporate retreat in Montreal & ended up at Philemon for one of our nightly parties. It was awesome! Welcoming intimate space, great music & dj, friendly bartenders. Go often & have a great time! ✨
A special place that knows how to turn it up!!! Our work team was looking for a special place to celebrate our company, & we walked into Philemon bar & the turn up their venue in the most incredible way with an exciting vibrant night of music, amazing beverages, friendly staff, & everything you could ask for for a lively night in old Montreal! The Recharge team is extremely grateful for the vibe; the professional level of service that we got to share at Philemon! Big props to the staff!
