I am from BC & have heard about the awesome xialongbao but have not tried it. On my first night in Montreal I decided to try this place because it was close to my hotel & the reviews are great. There was another place on the same street 2 blocks away but the line was long so I opted to go inside this place. It's late, I was starving & didn't know where to find a good meal in a foreign city. I ordered the xialingbao because they show at the window by the entrance how they do it so I was intrigued. Oh my, I was hooked right away. It was so yummy, soft, juicy, fresh, that I was thinking of having the same for dinner the following night.View more
Best soup dumplings in Montreal. The staff is very sweet & the service might be a little slow but it's because each dumpling is made fresh & on the spot. Totally worth the visit.View more
The dumplings are delicious! I'm usually not a fan of dumplings but these ones are amazing & fresh. The ambiance is really nice it feels cozy & the deco is so fun. The staff is lovely too. I recommend the fried shrimp dumplings!View more
Such a cute little place to go eat dumplings solo in Plateau! A place that makes you feel like home. The woman that served us was such a pearl, she was a very good host. We sat at the bar so we could see the making off the dumplings & it was really satisfying to see everything made in front of you with fresh ingredients & beautiful flavors. Really pleasant evening & will be back soon!View more
I found these dumplings ordinary. Not terrible but I have add way better dumplings in other places in town. I was curious to try as it is closer to home for me. The service was very sweet & the small restaurant is cute. They are quite busy too so the food is fresh. Just not something I'll be craving like the other places I know. ;)View more
I've eaten tons of soup dumplings in Montreal, & these were among the best! They had a little less soup in them than other places, but had lots of filling & were incredibly rich & flavorful. The fried dumplings were also lovely. The pork & corriander dumplings were the best - such a rich broth, super fresh corriander, & lots of meat.
The restaurant itself was very cozy - a sunken space with lots of modern art, not too loud or too crowded. The staff was very kind, & the price was fair. I'd happily go back!
