Review Summary

Petit Opus Cafe-Bar offers a varied experience where the quality of the food and the speed of service receive mixed feedback from guests. While some diners find the breakfast items delicious and the service professional, others feel that the pricing does not reflect the overall quality when compared to nearby alternatives. Reports of slow service and distracting maintenance work during operating hours suggest inconsistencies in the dining environment, leading some visitors to conclude that better value can be found elsewhere in downtown Montreal.

I waited almost 10min to be seated… there was nobody for the service although is was « service time ».
I had eggs Benedict. They were very tasty. I'm giving 4 ⭐? to the food because the side potatoes were not tasty.

It is convenient to come here for breakfast If you stay in Omni, but I wouldn't recommend you to come here. The food price is higher bit the quality isn't comparable to nearby options within 5 min of walking. It lacks the competitiveness in terms of food quality, service & price in comparison to other options in downtown Montreal.

Came for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Service was very slow, food was below average, price average for the area, but better can be found for less. The model was vacuuming the stairs in the hall outside when we arrived, & this continued for 15 minutes - would be better to plan to do this when the restaurant is closed during the afternoon.

Very lovely breakfast & staff. Visited over NYE weekend & they were extremely busy & understaffed. Otherwise would've been a 5/5!

The Bagel & Saumon Fumé (Bagel & Smoked Salmon) is one of the best meals I've ever had - very similar to the Smoked Salmon Sandwich from the NCC Patterson Creek Park Bistro, in Ottawa (one of my other favourites). The combination of smoked salmon, cream cheese, & capers, has got to be one of humanity's greatest inventions. The portion size was generous, & Theodora was a kind & attentive server. She even went out of her way to get the recipe for the meal & write it down for me, & recommended where to get the best bagels to go with it. I'll happily come back here in the future, likely even when I'm not staying at the hotel.

I had a very nice experience here, & a part of it thanks to the very attentive, polite & friendly server Michael. The food was not outstanding, but overall very good with beautiful presentation. I also like the atmosphere here, it's very calm & perfect for a date night.

A Cozy cafe in the Omni hotel, my husband & I enjoyed a Canadian favorite: poutine with a generous helping of cheese curds. My salmon with winter veggies was delicious & Matt liked his smoked meat sandwich. I finished my meal with the soft & pillowy chocolate fondant with fruit.

This was the least enjoyable 50$ dinner I've had in Montreal. The ambiance is OK but is completely open to the pass-way within the hotel (a boutique on the other side). The service was actually quite good. The food... I had a Brie fondant for a starter, which was basically walnuts on a pile of brown sugar. You could smell the cheese but all you chew on is sugar & nuts. The only vegetarian option they had was margarita pizza which would be competing with some of the frozen pizzas you get from a grocery store. They do have some remarkable artisan beers, at ~15$. Neither my first nor the second choice was there, but whatever was there, was still pretty good.

Commentaire d'un souper dans le cadre de Montréal à la Table: très bonne nourriture cuite à point, excellent service à un prix abordable. Nous y retournerons sûrement.
