Review Summary

Peking Garden - Jardin de Pekin draws a mixed but largely positive picture from reviews, with allergy friendly catering, friendly service, a clean relaxing atmosphere, and plenty of space frequently noted; signature items such as egg foo young and roasted duck wraps are highlighted, the menu feels homemade and comforting, and nostalgic decor plus the chance to spot local celebrities add to the appeal; takeout is popular thanks to an extensive menu and value like pickup discounts, with many diners choosing the General Tao combo as a regular order; at the same time there are caveats, including a Saturday visit described as not flavorful outside the duck which was tasty, and a separate critique about wonton soup with doughy underfilled wontons and a syrupy sweet and sour fish that seemed overdone, plus a beef broccoli dish seen as low quality; overall the restaurant remains a go to for Chinese comfort food and reliable takeout, offering generous portions and friendly owners, though experiences can vary.

Went here since I was a kid when they were in the old location on queen Mary upstairs. They make the best chop suey won ton soup. Also make a great pan fried noodles with vegetables (especially their broccoli), tofu in black bean sauce, shrimp toast, crispy spinach , shrimps in lobster sauce, egg rolls & probably some other dishes I'm forgetting

The worst, most inedible food! Black Bean Beef dish meat was so vile-tasting & rubbery I would not want to know what type of meat it actually was! Eggroll completely flat + dried-out, fried rice tasteless.Got our simple order wrong & waiter was rude + cold, ignoring us throughout. When my friend refused to tip him he asked "how come." He then told her never to come back or he would "kick her out".Unfortunately I had already tipped him + was very polite to him, despite his much deserving otherwise. He then ordered BOTH of us to leave + said that we had been there long enough!!! Another employee sitting nearby (seemed to be owner) also told us to leave + that he needed our table. We were the ONLY customers in the place! Years ago, in their former location up the street, they lost almost all their clientele, who banded together & spread the word about their lousy attitude & disrespect. They changed course when they went empty! They now well deserve to go out-of-business completely. Someone tell them that customers are their bread-&-butter & have many other options from which to choose! Don't patronize where you are disrespected & served inferior quality food!!!

Very nice place inside. But the man was rude & irritable. The food was bland, ordered fried rice & tofu. The tofu seemed to be stale & difficult to chew on because it was so overcooked/fried.

My advice STAY AWAY do not waste your money or time here. I HAD A HORRIBLE experience . I ordered shrimp fried rice & paid 15$ all to receive 5 shrimp in my rice & with a funny taste !! I noticed the shrimp had poo inside ALL 5 🤢 #2 The sweet & sour ribs are absolutely horrible they were dripping in fat & had no MEAT just fat. #3 AFTER calling the manager & sending proof with pictures!!! He was extremely rude !! & said "maybe that is not the style you like ? but the food is normal . sorry" stay away is my advice
