We ordered the Salmon Benedictine, Pear Grilled cheese & Ham omelet, presentation was simple but classy & the food was excellent. Our server was attentive & pleasant which we appreciated since the place was full.
The only reason it did not get 5* is the noise, it is a lively place & in Winter the seating is only inside so lots of noise but obviously many people can ignore it because it has an unusual menu for Longeuil's breakfast spots. I will go back but next time on Wednesday or Thursday since I was told, it is quieter but let's face it, Péché Matinal is victim of its own fame. Not a bad place to be for a restaurant.
Best breakfast place on the south shore. Don't go there expecting bacon & eggs. It ain't cheap (13 to 20$) but worth the time it takes to get there & the usual lineup. My fav is the omelette costaude with lotsa meat.
We called at 8:10am to ask if we could reserve a table & we would be there in half an hour. The waiter said no, but they had four empty tables that could be used by the group. When we arrived we were seated at the front door, less than 70cm away from the door. The waiter said there was no other place for six people. The whole meal we had our faces facing the queue, people kept opening the door behind the chairs & talking, it was very noisy. The food was beautifully presented, but very salty. My husband ordered a bread dish that was oily, sweet & salty. I think my organs would have to work all day to digest this breakfast. First & last time.
Péché Matinal is everything you want in a breakfast spot-warm, vibrant, & utterly unforgettable. We decided to give it a try on a recommendation, & wow, we're so glad we did. From the moment we arrived, we could see this place is a local favorite; a line had already formed outside, hinting at the delicious experience awaiting us. Although we waited around 20 minutes, it was absolutely worth it. The restaurant's layout is narrow & cozy, with a delightful solarium at the far end where sunlight filters in, creating a charming, inviting atmosphere. The space was packed, yet the service didn't miss a beat. Despite the crowd, the staff was attentive & cheerful, making us feel welcome from start to finish. Now, let's talk about the real star-the food. Péché Matinal has elevated breakfast to an art form. Each dish is brimming with flavor, thoughtfully crafted, & generous enough to satisfy even the heartiest of appetites. Whether you're craving classic breakfast fare or something more inventive, every bite is fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. & for the quality you're getting, the prices are more than reasonable. This place has quickly become our go-to breakfast spot, & we've already returned several times. If there's one thing I'd suggest improving, it's the lineup management outside, which can be a little chaotic at peak times. But honestly, that minor inconvenience is a small price to pay for such an incredible dining experience.
Very nice breakfast place. The plates are huge & the food is delicious! They accommodate vegans as well. Highly recommend this place
If ever you're in Old Longueuil this is the BEST place for breakfast, brunch or just to have a light snack/drinks. Absolutely amazing food, friendly service & the atmosphere is charming. Food portions are great, flavorful, fresh & very tasty. They also have gluten free, vegetarian & lactose free options. My M-law was very place & can't stop raving about the fact that they had GF+ lactose options. New favorite place & worth checking out & enjoying some delicious food options.
Children are a lot of work & over a lifetime cost parents $250,000. It is totally worth it just for the French toast off the kids menu here. The food (breakfast) here is twice as a good as anywhere in Montreal & won't have you take out a 3rd mortgage to afford it. Great spot! Have kids, eat well.
Delicious breakfasts! We waited 30 minutes on a Saturday, but it was well worth it! Each of us ordered a different dish, & I was particularly impressed with their matcha latte. It had the perfect flavor, not too sweet, just right. I had the gravlax, which was good! My friends ordered their famous French toast, & they couldn't stop raving about it. Definitely a spot worth checking out for a tasty start to your day.
They decided that they were going to be different!!!! Yes they do breakfast but don't go if you want your typical eggs & bacon. Go if you are looking for a culinary experience
Such a good place to eat breakfast or for a brunch with some friends! 🥞 I definitely would recommend!
There was a bit of a wait to be seated but we had a great breakfast with drinks here. Loved the service & food quality.
Definitely one of the top breakfast/brunch spot on the South Shore. Place is cozy, the atrium is beautiful, original menu, the food & coffee fantastic. The no1 restaurant on St-Charles street, worth the wait.
