Incredible desserts. Wonderful samples. We got the ice cream they recommended which we highly recommended! Plus a box of misc goodies all of which one better than the next! Very well priced for the quality. Impeccable craftsmanship.
We hit up this pastry shop twice a week every summer we're in Montreal. The staff are super friendly & always offer us free samples-such a nice touch! The quality is top, & you have to try the ice cream & cheese rolls. Absolutely delicious!
If I could give 10 stars, I would, I am visiting from out of the country & I walked by this pastry shop. I walked in & it was the most elegant dessert I have ever seen it's right off of the main strip. The young man at the counter was so friendly & helpful. His name was Mazhar! He took the time to tell me all of the different options. He also let me sample something that was super tasty. My first order was a cheese like pastry with cream on the inside. He topped it with pistachios! My favorite. Then I got a tart with pistachios. The tart was so flaky & airy. I wish I could buy 100 more. He put it on the most elegant tray. The place is extraordinary. He let me sample the ice cream. It's freshly made. I wish I knew how to describe it. But it was great. I made a second order. Ice cream with pistachios. He even topped it with cotton candy style strips.
This place is amazing & the best customer service.
Stopped in for a coffee & a pastry on my way to a meeting & ended up staying longer than planned because the vibe was so pleasant. The display cases are always filled with beautiful options that look almost too good to eat. Everything I have sampled so far has been consistently excellent. It is clearly a popular spot for locals but the service remains attentive & professional. I am already looking forward to my next visit to try more items.
A Lebanese friend brought a dessert called Halawet El Jibn from this pastry shop for a barbecue gathering. It's a simple & very light dessert made with cheese, semolina, & cream. We loved it so much that we came back later that same week to buy it again.
The staff were incredibly kind & welcoming. They offered us some ice cream to try, & it was delicious. We also got to sample their baklava, which was excellent as well. The prices are very reasonable. We had a wonderful experience & will definitely return.
Food:
This was such a great find. We got an assorted box, & honestly I do not even know the exact names of everything in it, but every single piece was incredible. The pastries had that perfect mix of flaky, crisp, buttery layers, rich nuts, syrupy sweetness, & different fillings that kept the whole box fun to work through. Nothing felt one-note. Some were more classic & honey-soaked, some had pistachio, some had chocolate, & the little nest-style pieces were especially good.
Service:
The service was just as memorable as the pastries. We were immediately greeted with a sample, which is always a great sign, & the employee was genuinely kind while helping put together the box for us. Since we did not totally know what to pick, it made the experience feel personal, easy, & welcoming.
Summary:
Pâtisserie Mahrouse was excellent. Great pastries, great variety, & really warm service. This is exactly the kind of place where you let them build you a box & just trust it. Everything we tried was worth it.
Staff was very friendly! Gave out multiple samples!
The inside is absolutely beautiful & the desserts are delicious! Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a sweet treat!
