This has to be one of the best Italian restaurants in Montreal. It's been located on Sherbrooke Street in NDG for decades & I've been going there with friends for a very long time. It's a real treat. We always order different dishes each time we go &, each time we go, the way the food was prepared offered a really pleasingculinary experience. Perhaps what I'm about to say is the same for all high-end restaurants: when the waiter describes the various chef's specialties for the evening, the decision to choose one over the other is so difficult! They always sound so good. &.... I've not been disappointed.

our family enjoyed PC overall. we had arancini appy & were expecting the big beautiful balls from the counter but instead got two ovals a fraction of the size. but v tasty. we had the garlic bread pizzaioli also yummy but not v garlicky at all. i enjoyed my pesto & burrata but no salt on table & couldve used it. my son's casareccia was delish, & other two had chicken parm which disappeared in minutes. prices are significantly higher than what website lists tho & we didnt have the basic offerings menu with lower prices on our table & only saw it after. tartufos were large & delicious for dessert, as were the mousse offerings both in 🍫 & 🍋. but then for $10 we ordered two cannolis, & were disappointed to get two mini cannolis with room temperature cream. we were expecting full size, as theres no mention of mini on menu, & at that price...& that cream should be cold!waitress was very thorough & refilled water repeatedly & we had a good time regardless of imperfect experience. wouldnt rush to go back.
So this place has been there for years & I have been a long time patron to be clear, so why 4 star instead of 5 on the food & 3 stars on atmosphere? I have tried numerous dishes here including the chicken parmigiana & well, some dishes just did not meet a great level of satisfaction to say the least. However, they also have some wonderful dishes such as one of the best Lasagna Bolognese, bruschetta, gnocchi with airboats sauce, spaghetti & meat or marinara sauce, Cannelloni with ricotta & spinach, Stracciatella soup, Polpette (but they are too expensive & quite small), vinaigrette salade & they also have fantastic fresh bread in the table too. Now, I may be fussy due to my culinary background so take this with a grain of salt in that you may like the dishes I didn't. But one this is sure, most restaurants don't have every dish a rockstar hence 4 stars. Interior is average & likely not a first date as it does not impress, but it's clean & lovely all the same & I enjoy the atmosphere for a quick family or early meal. Service is always good!

Great place, great food, great service. Took the stuffed olives & the House Casareccia sauce with home made pasta. Great choice for a dinner with guests at our place!!
Délicieuses pâtes & stracciatella! Les pâtes a la truffe particulièrement bonnes. Un peu cher pour des pâtes. & service un peu trop rapide: même pas le temps de finir de savourer que je n'avais plus mon assiette & qu'on me proposait la carte des desserts...

We drive by this restaurant often & decided to go based on positive reviews on Google. Review in a nut-shell is: school cafeteria level food for $200 for family of three. Would have been acceptable had it been priced at $100. Now for the details: Restaurant is a family restaurant established 40 years ago or so. Decor is reminiscent of a American dinner with vinyl banquettes, art deco light fixtures, small tables with paper covers. They have a fridge with counter to buy ready made meals, pastries, Italian sausages & cheeses. We liked the vibe & no-fuss decor. Service was acceptable considering the atmosphere. The food was of a level that one would be served as a school meal. For appetizers we ordered caprese salad & bruscheta, good old iItalian stalwarts. The bruscheta was sliced untoasted bread served in a basket with a ramekin of confi'd small tomatoes with unpitted olives which you had to assemble yourself; image the untoasted bread becoming soggy with the whole tomatoes bursting into juice. The caprese was also served with confi'd tomatoes in a ramekin with the mozzarella sprinkled with a few shred of basil. I regret not having taking pictures to illustrate that sorry sight. The meals were pasta dishes & chicken parmigiana. Presentation was unappealing & sloppy, the ingredients in the pasta indecipherable &, surprisingly in a place that sells fresh pasta, the pasta was overcooked & mushy. Remember these $12 school meals with the stale bread? Those are them. Apparently the biggest crowd pleaser is the tiramisu & that was not available at 6PM on a Friday. You got the picture?
