Nous revenons d'un voyage gastronomique en Italie qui, honnêtement, n'a pas été à la hauteur de nos attentes. Quelques très bons repas, mais beaucoup d'ordinaire. Alors quand ma femme a voulu de vraies pâtes fraîches, on a cherché ici, chez nous, & on a trouvé Pasta Casareccia.

C'était meilleur que la plupart de ce qu'on a mangé en Italie.

J'ai pris les tagliatelles à l'osso buco. Le veau avait mijoté longtemps, une sauce profonde & pleine de nuances, le genre de sauce qui goûte comme si quelqu'un la préparait de la même façon depuis des décennies. Ma femme a pris les bucatini alle vongole & s'est retrouvée devant une montagne de palourdes, bien iodées, bien aillées, rien de retenu. On a terminé avec le tiramisu & un caffè freddo, tous les deux excellents.

Quarante ans sur Sherbrooke Ouest & toujours une entreprise familiale. Ça se goûte. Allez-y.

We just came back from a food trip through Italy that, honestly, did not live up to the hype. A few great meals, but a lot of ordinary ones. So when my wife said she wanted real fresh pasta, we went looking here at home & found Pasta Casareccia.

It beat most of what we ate in Italy.

I had the tagliatelle with osso buco. The veal was stewed long & slow, deep & layered, the kind of sauce that tastes like someone has been making it the same way for decades. My wife had the bucatini vongole & got a mountain of clams, properly briny, properly garlicky, nothing held back. We finished with the tiramisu & a caffè freddo, both excellent.

Forty years on Sherbrooke West & still family run. You can taste that. Go.

Great pasta, fresh & authentic, been going here since i was little & it's never failed me!! way better than those gentrified 3 piece ravioli spots. You'll never leave feeling hungry & the food is delicious.

This is a nice local homemade pasta house that had been an NDG staple for many years. We really enjoyed the fresh flavours & home made pasta & sauces. We will return!

So this place has been there for years & I have been a long time patron to be clear, so why 4 star instead of 5 on the food & 3 stars on atmosphere? I have tried numerous dishes here including the chicken parmigiana & well, some dishes just did not meet a great level of satisfaction to say the least. However, they also have some wonderful dishes such as one of the best Lasagna Bolognese, bruschetta, gnocchi with airboats sauce, spaghetti & meat or marinara sauce, Cannelloni with ricotta & spinach, Stracciatella soup, Polpette (but they are too expensive & quite small), vinaigrette salade & they also have fantastic fresh bread in the table too. Now, I may be fussy due to my culinary background so take this with a grain of salt in that you may like the dishes I didn't. But one this is sure, most restaurants don't have every dish a rockstar hence 4 stars. Interior is average & likely not a first date as it does not impress, but it's clean & lovely all the same & I enjoy the atmosphere for a quick family or early meal. Service is always good!
