The owner of this restaurant not only has exceptional culinary skills but also a deep understanding of the business-serving as both the chef & the owner of the restaurant. I ordered the Chettinad Paneer Dosa, which was flavorful & prepared with minimal oil, showcasing a perfect balance of taste & health.
While I did have a brief encounter with a big mosquito near the window, the ambiance was pleasant, with warm lighting. The bathrooms are also clean & well-maintained. If you are visiting Montreal & craving authentic South Indian cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit.View more

We tried the Ghee Podi Sett Dosa, Mysore Dosa, Plain Chilli Garlic Dosa, & Paneer 65 Biryani. The Ghee Podi Sett Dosa was definitely the star-especially with their delicious chutneys. Mysore Dosa was also quite good, while the Paneer 65 Biryani & Chilli Garlic Dosa were just okay.
Portion sizes were generous & enough for one person per plate. The restaurant has a nice ambience with plenty of seating, & roadside parking is easily available. A good spot for South Indian food in MontrealView more

Recently I visited to South Indian restaurant & was absolutely blown away by the experience!
The food quality was nothing short of exceptional. Every dish felt authentic The masala dosa was crisp on the outside & perfectly spiced on the inside.

We visited the our place south Indian restaurant last night & overall had a great experience. The dosa we ordered was absolutely delicious - crisp, flavorful, & served hot. One of the best we've had in a while!
What really made our visit memorable was the service by *Dhruva. Even though she was managing the entire dining area alone on a busy night, she remained calm, courteous, & incredibly professional. She took the time to explain the full menu, patiently answered our questions, & recommended the *goat fresh cut biryani** instead of the chicken. It turned out to be a fantastic choice - rich, aromatic, & full of flavor.
The atmosphere was quite nice overall. There was soft background music playing which added a pleasant vibe, but on the downside, there was a lot of loud shouting & noise coming from the kitchen, which slightly disrupted the dining experience.
It was clear they were facing a staff shortage, but the girl handled everything with grace & efficiency. She truly went above & beyond to ensure every customer felt attended to.
Would definitely recommend this place for its food & the excellent effort shown by the staff, especially Dhruva.View more

On May 14th, 2025, our family of six visited Our Place, a South Indian restaurant that has garnered local attention for its regional offerings. While the ambiance & courteous service set a pleasant tone for the afternoon, the overall culinary experience, though satisfactory, did not ascend to exceptional heights.
We sampled a broad spectrum of the menu-from the comprehensive Thali platters to a variety of individually ordered dishes. The diversity was commendable & the presentation aesthetically pleasing. Some items, such as the sambar & select vegetable curries, showcased the familiar depth & warmth characteristic of South Indian cuisine. However, not all elements met the same standard; the Rasam, in particular, lacked the piquancy & layered spice profile that aficionados of this quintessential dish would expect.
The service, while efficient & polite, did not rise above the ordinary, nor did the overall atmosphere leave a particularly memorable impression. In essence, Our Place offers a decent, family-friendly dining option for those seeking South Indian fare, but it falls short of delivering a truly distinguished gastronomic experience.
In conclusion, Our Place is a good restaurant-reliable & pleasant-but not one that inspires accolades or repeat visits based solely on culinary merit.View more

I recently visited the South Indian restaurant in Montreal, & I was impressed by the luxurious feel created by the black-themed interiors. We tried the Chicken Kothu Porotta, Szechwan Cheese Dosa, & Idli. The Kothu Porotta was a bit different from what I'm used to, but it was still delicious with a unique masala. The Szechwan Cheese Dosa was also tasty. However, the Idli didn't quite meet my expectations.View more

Absolutely teriffic! This chef deserves the attention of the culinary media : this is not just excellent South Asian cuisine. The chef has added his own subtle , & in my fairly extensive experience with Indian cuisine as a non Indian, spice shadings to each dish that amplify the taste experience & engage the taste buds in a "Whoa! This is REALLY GOOD!" There is a lot of very serviceable Indian restaurant food out there. This is something more.

The Karam Podi Dosa had a perfect blend of spices, & the crispy texture was delightful. The Chicken Dum Biryani was rich & fragrant, with tender pieces of chicken perfectly cooked in flavorful rice. The Mutton Dum Biryani, too, was exceptional - the meat was juicy, & the spices well-balanced, making every bite memorable.
