I took the salmon one & the miso beef one, to my sad surprise inside the salmon one there was only salmon with spiced mayo, it just simply misses flavors, the rice was smooth & the nori was crunchy (wich is just perfect), some green onions & some sesame inside would have been just the little kick it needed, same for the beef one,
the staff was really friendly & cool, really good service
Awesome & cozy place. Employees very nice & food amazing. I like the Mont Fuji & the fresh salmon. Food is fresh.Quality is not compromised even though the price is only $4.99. Highly recommend this restaurant.
I had a fresh spicy Tuna from Onigiri Shop at a café earlier this year, & it was delicious.
In comparison, the onigiri at this location was a disaster. Perhaps at this particular hour, the staff were inexperienced, but what they served was borderline inedible.
I ordered the spicy salmon & was recommended the Ebi Tempura. Setting aside the presentation, which was a quickly wrapped ball of rice that didn't match the takeaway images, the taste, in my opinion is the most important, & it was lacking. The onigiri also fell apart while I was trying to eat it, which made the experience frustrating.
The spicy salmon filling itself was good, however, it was wrapped in the equivalent of three portions of rice. I had to remove the excess rice to make the meal enjoyable.
The Ebi Tempura was essentially a greasy mayo rice ball, with the same excessive amount of rice, & its presentation was also disappointing.
As I could have made two more onigiri with the leftover rice on my plate, I believe new workers would benefit from using an onigiri mold or something similar to learn the correct rice-to-filling ratio.
Overall, a thoroughly disappointing experience, & I'm unsure if I will return anytime soon.
