Omma is described as a small, cozy restaurant with a warm, authentic Korean vibe. A wide variety of dishes is praised, especially bibimbap, tofu dishes, stews with tofu and sweet potato vermicelli, and pajeon, with many noting the flavors are well balanced and could be shared among friends. The iced tea is described as fantastic. The atmosphere is often described as pleasant and charming, with a recommendation to call ahead for a table due to its small size. Service is praised as friendly and attentive in some reviews, while others mention timid or understated service. For many, Omma offers outstanding authenticity and some of Montreal's best Korean flavors, with comments about the tubu tuigim and the fresh ingredients in bibimbap. A few notes mention that the space can feel chilly and that a short wait or busy crowds are common, and one review points out a payment terminal issue. Overall, the reviews paint Omma as a beloved small spot with strong flavors, good value, and a consistently warm vibe that draws diners back, while acknowledging the intimate setting and occasional busy times.
Came here for dinner & lunch, authentic Korean food. Nice marinated appetizer dishes. The swizzling beef was ok; I was expecting beef ribs, but it's not, flavor only ok. My favorite was the seafood pancake; not a big portion, but crispy & tasty; full of veggies. The beef broth with beef 🥟 was delicious.
Delicious food, had a tofu dish, a stew with tofu & sweet potato vermicellidish, all were great! The iced tea is had was fantastic. Great little restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to anyone! It is small though so call ahead for a table if you can!
This is a cosy little corner restaurant with a good variety of Korean dishes. I've been to a fair number of Korean restaurants & Omma had a wide variety of dishes that would appeal to all types of palettes. The dishes are well suited for sharing as well, so it is easy to get some different main courses & divvy them up.
We had a reservation & bar seating was all that was available, which was suitable. When we arrived there were open tables reserved for others. It looked to me like walk-in traffic would be taking a chance, so a reservation is recommended.
🤍 Merci!
I cannot say enough about Omma's cooking. Hands down the best Korean food I've ever had. God forbid, if I ever found myself on death row, I would ask for her cooking to soothe me in my final moments.
The tubu tuigim was perfectly crisp on the outside & incredibly moist on the inside. The bibimbap had the freshest of ingredients that harmoniously mixed together to create a mouthwatering experience of a lifetime. I had never heard a stone bowl sizzle that hot before. The raw egg cooked itself within seconds before my eyes & the intense heat made the best charred rice imaginable.
Through Omma I've regained my faith in god, her cooking is one of Montreal's best hidden gems. After one meal, I love her almost as much as my Korean girlfriend. If Omma ever offered cooking lessons my life would be heaven.
Find Omma for a wonderful evening with your loved ones. We'll be back every week, we'll see you all there.
Charmant petit endroit aux couleurs tendres. La nourriture est très bonne , le riz croustillant est d'un goût & d'une texture extraordinaire! Le service est timide , mais très poli
