Olé Tapas consistently impresses visitors with its authentic Spanish cuisine, vibrant atmosphere, and exceptional hospitality. Guests frequently highlight the generous portion sizes, the quality of the seafood paella and octopus, and the welcoming nature of the staff. Many reviews emphasize the personal attention provided by the chef and the team, who often go above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience, whether on the beautiful waterfront terrace or inside the cozy dining area. While the restaurant is a popular destination that often requires a reservation, the combination of professional service, delicious food, and a relaxed environment makes it a highly recommended spot for celebrations and casual outings alike.
Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing compared to my first experience.
The first time I came here, everything was spectacular, which is why I decided to come back. Sadly, this second visit was a completely different experience.
The pink sangria was overpriced & tasted like nothing. The hostess was also quite rude. We politely asked if we could be seated away from the entrance, but she refused & kept us at a table right by the door, which made the experience uncomfortable.
My friend ordered the octopus, & it was terrible. It was so bad that he couldn't finish it. The only dishes we really enjoyed were the patatas bravas & the paella, which were both good.
It's unfortunate because this restaurant made a great first impression, but after this visit, I'm not sure I'll be returning.
Amazing dining experience! It was our first time at Olé Tapas & we can't wait to go back. We were 4 people & shared the Ensalata a la andaluza, Albondigas a la Valenciana, Muslos de pollo al ajillo & Rosé sangria. Everything was really flavorful & delicious. At the end of the meal, we were surprised by a free dessert & this was also delicious. Our waiter was really nice & we received great service. We loved the sharing concept of this restaurant.
Staff was warm, friendly & welcoming. We will definitely be back.
This place is the best restaurant in Ste Anne de Bellevue hands down.
The tapas menu is playful & delicious, high-quality ingredients & everything authentic & Spanish sourced.
Plenty of options to eat & the staff is exceptionally pleasant & helpful. Order a little at a time or everything at once. They will be helpful & patient with you & everything done with a smile.
The wine list is all Importation Prive Spanish wines not available at the SAQ. So very nice to switch it up. Also reasonably priced wines with a good QualityPrice balance.
Decor is colorful & bright with lots of yellows & reds & blues, as you would expect in a Trattoria in Spain.
I also noticed that many of the tables around me are conversing in Spanish. A famous restaurant critic once told me that if I wanted to be sure I was eating authentic regional cuisine, to look around myself & make sure I was a minority surrounded by people from that region, that lets you know that you're getting an authentic culinary experience.
Even the sangria actually tastes like good quality red wine is used in making it, filled with apple orange & lemon wedges & delicious on a hot day.
I'm actually sitting on the terrace right now as I write this watching the boats go by on the boardwalk.
I'm updating this review after returning recently to eat here again, & noticing that Owner & Chef Nicolas has updated the menu. Everything was great. & I mean EVERYTHING. I don't usually order salads when I dine out, as I prefer to make them at home & try very hard to order things & it wouldn't normally cook at home on a daily basis when I'm dying out. But even the salads here were so good. I had trouble not going back for more over & over again. Meat platter of warm, tap as good feet two or three people easily, & that's just one dish. Everything here constantly gets better . Most restaurants tend to decline overtime, this one just keeps up against scheme it seems.
Every time I come to this town in my boat & I eat somewhere else, I wonder why I bothered, & realize I should've just come back here.
I just brought two very discerning, foodie friends that visit Montreal for several months every year from overseas, & they immediately labeled this place'one of my favorite restaurants'.
& on-site Chef 😎🍖🍕🍔🥩🍤🍣🍻🧿🧿🧿🧿🧿 owner makes all the difference, everything's so fresh, every plate being checked all the way out of the kitchen. It really shows up in the quality of the final meal that comes to your table.
Very caring & friendly staff, that clearly display a strong desire to see you happy, & visibly trying very hard to make sure that happens.
Very rarely do I feel the desire to linger in a restaurant after I finished my food. I usually just ask for the bill & I leave. Here I always have desire to hang out a little longer & have one last glass of wine, just to stretch out experience. I almost feel like I'm sitting in a restaurant in Spain, unrushed & welcomed.
Definite five stars for the combination of ambience, service, food quality & location. You can't go wrong at'Ole'!

Ole has quickly become our go-to summer terrasse! Friendly staff, vibrant atmosphere, & endless delicious tapas dishes to try. Great for young children too. Highly recommend the seafood paella (Marisco) & the cava sangria.
First time at ole tapas restaurant. A great step up in an authentic Spanish culinary experience. The chef & the staff are amazing. The advised really well. Octopus a definite must have! Champagne sangria also amazing & refreshing. Highly recommend.
We had one of the best meals we have had in Montreal. The grilled calamari was done to perfection, the garlic bread with tomato & Manchego cheese was fantastic. The staff was amazing, the decor is perfect & the music helps transports you to Spain. We were able to talk with the chef & you can see how passionate he is to serve fantastic authentic Spanish tapas & dishes. Trust me you will have a fantastic meal here. We are already think of when we can go back. Oh by the way, be sure to order the Ole Sangria, it is simply the best one I have ever had.
This place is really just OK… nice location & view. Probably ok if you want to just have a beer & sangria on a terrace with some apps. If you're looking for anything more, this is probably not the place. Food was overly salted & not so tasty. Some menu items are misleading. I ordered what I thought was chorizo & ended up with a pizza (no sign of the chorizo). Some items are way overpriced. Most expensive mussels I've ever seen (double the price of any other restaurant for the same portion) & the sauces were off. Waiter brought all of our tapas at once, completely crowded the tiny table they gave us & made things very uncomfortable. I ordered a martini & got a glass of green foamy olive juice (which I sent back…). The staff is inexperienced & that's quite obvious. Don't charge fine dining pricing if you can't deliver on the experience.
