cafe(65) burger(43) coffee(41) ramen(31) japanese(30) latte(28) matcha(25) sando(22) ebi(18) tamago(18) yuzu(17) shrimp(15)I got the matcha yuzu lemonade & the katsu sando. I loved the lemonade, perfectly refreshing. But my sandwich was mostly fat & not meat which was disappointing. & I saw a chunk of red in there as well. I'm sure it's just a mistake, so I'm willing to try the restaurant again but not really open to giving the katsu another go. :(
All the food we got here was amazing. The ramen particularly is delicious!
The cold noodles I ordered was nicely presented & delicious. There seemed like very little broth at first, but there was just enough for the portion of noodles, though I would've preferred the ability to dip my noodles in a smaller vessel via the traditional way. A minor complaint: I discovered the spice powder AFTER I had finished my noodles because it was hidden BEHIND the bowl & out of my line of sight. Also, the napkin they gave me with the bowl was partially dampened with water. I found it odd that the dish itself was thoughtfully presented, yet they couldn't use the same attention to detail in the accoutrements. A small yet annoying flub.
I went here yesterday &, overall, enjoyed my experience. The cafe is nice, with many people coming in & out. It's a nice place to sit down with a friend or by yourself if you want to pretend to work (but secretly watch people outside). I was here with a few friends & we shared the noodle dish with braised lamb & the Katsu Sando. The noodles were really nice, dressed with a very delicious sauce. However, the lamb was a bit dry for my taste. The Katsu Sando was pretty big, but I wasn't a fan of the horseradish/mustard dressing. I thought the flavor was too strong. The service was courteous, but I didn't feel the warmth of a small place which is usually typical in Montreal, where you can chat with the people working there & learn a bit more about the neighborhood or the restaurant.
If I lived in Montreal, I would go all the time! Had the best hojicha latte & an amazing lamb special. Wish I could have tried everything on the menu.
Their shrimp burger was very yummy, side of potato was interesting (not sure if it is my fav) but would come back try the rest of the menu
This has become my new favorite coffee spot. I found at the beginning the coffee was too bitter but the new full time barista, Soma, makes the coffee perfect! The cortados are on point! Well done with the concept, great addition to the neighbourhood, friendly staff, great service, quality food. Wishing you all the success.
