Makes you feel like you're in Japan. Love their tamago sando. It's basically a Japanese tamago sando on delicious Montreal bread. Their dorayakis are an awesome dessert too.
A bright & inviting café, featuring a creative Japanese-inspired menu. I tried the tamago sando (Japanese scrambled egg on toast)-nice!
The coffee was excellent, & the atmosphere makes it a great spot to meet up. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!
The atmosphere is great, so lovely to have some sun on your skin & be surrounded by plants during this cold cold spring season
The tamago sando was delish but we found the food to be extremely salty , I love salt & even I felt like it was way too much. My friend couldn't even finish her side of potatoes because they were drowned in salt as well. Also a bit expensive ($25 total for my meal, no drink)
I think this cafe would be better to come do work here & just get a drink instead of the food , although there was a sign that no laptops are allowed 12h-15h but I'm not sure if that's regulated
I really wanted to like this place. The service was great & I like the quiet vibe but I go to restaurants for the food &, unfortunately, it left a bad taste in my mouth (literally).
I ordered the chicken burger & katsu sando. The chicken burger was ok. The toppings are what were underwhelming. This was definitely not a particularly memorable fried chicken sandwich.
Now onto the katsu sando (fried pork sandwich). This is one of the worst sandwiches I've ever had. I should have expected to find it terrible when I saw honey mustard & worcestershire sauce as toppings in there. The worcestershire sauce is the particularly egregious choice here; it makes it so that you end up with a sour tasting pork sandwich despite how well cooked the pork is. Worcestershire sauce has very few redeeming qualities to me. I thought that maybe it would magically work with fried pork but I was wrong, oh so very wrong...
For those reasons, Café Ohayo gets a 2 out of 5 from me. Great staff & nice little place but I did not enjoy my food.
I was under the illusion that there was onigiri here. Oops there wasn't.
I got the vegan ramen. It was good. Maybe a little pricy what for what it is though. No protein? My friend got the Katsu Sando. I don't think it was as good. Maybe it was too much bread? She mainly ate the inside.
I would still come back. Mainly interested my from the side restaurant.
This Japanese café was beyond my expectations! We had hojicha, café latte, & tamago sando - they were all very good. The service was great too. I can't wait to come back & try the ramen & other items on the menu.
We got up bright & early & it was a delightful way to kick off the day! Filled with delicious & tantalizing flavors in an inviting atmosphere.
We couldn't resist trying the beloved Tamago Sando, &, as it turned out, it was an exquisite choice. The dish featured fluffy egg, & the delightful addition of salmon was simply divine.
Equally impressive was the Ebi burger, which was just as incredible & satisfying. We were also fortunate enough to sample the weekend special: the Katsu Sando. It was nothing short of amazing, full of complimentary flavors that came together so harmoniously, showcasing the expert craftsmanship of the chef (whose genius we already knew).
Every drink we ordered was perfection. The sesame latte was creamy & nuanced, while the matcha yuzu lemonade provided a refreshing flourish that balanced the richness of our food.
For dessert, we enjoyed a lovely red bean dorayaki-light, fluffy, & filled with sweet red bean paste; it was lovely.
A fantastic start to the day, with every dish expertly crafted & every sip delightful. We left feeling satisfied & eager to return for more of their innovative & delicious food! 🌟🍽?🍵
staff is very kind & the food was delicious. i had the tomago sando & the chocolatine & both were wonderful. there was some very loud drilling & sparks coming from the back of the restaurant when we were dining in which was a bit loud & annoying.
Ohayo café was very nice! They have a lot of options I want to try. Their tamago sando & ebi sandwich were good but not wow. I saw people eating the ramen & it looked really good. I'd definitely try that next time.
