Very concerning HYGIENE!! We were served a bottle of WATER with a piece of CHEESE inside. On top of that, we were told to pay a MANDATORY 15% TIP, rather than being given a choice. Very disappointing experience.
An absolute disaster. Nearly 100 customers being handled by TWO staff & TWO cooks, while 30+ people stand in a ridiculous queue wondering whether anyone even knows they exist. Nobody bothers to ask what you want, there's zero organization, & the place operates like complete chaos.
The longer you wait, the worse it gets-terrible service followed by disappointing food. Being busy is not an excuse for running a restaurant this badly. If you don't have enough staff to serve customers properly, STOP taking more orders & wasting people's time.
Painfully slow, horribly understaffed, poorly managed & absolutely not worth the wait. Never again.
Honestly, I'm extremely disappointed with my experience here. I used to go to this place quite often, which makes this experience even more frustrating, but the food was straight-up disgusting this time.
The dumplings might be pink, but there's a difference between that & dumplings that are so translucent & poorly held together that they practically fall apart. That was enough for me to question the quality of the food.
The wonton soup was completely devoid of flavor. It genuinely tasted like someone poured water into a bowl, threw in a few wontons, & called it soup. There was absolutely no depth or taste to it.
I also ordered the General Tao, & I found bones in the majority of the pieces. That is completely unacceptable. When you're eating something like General Tao, you shouldn't have to constantly worry about biting into a bone.
The service wasn't any better. The staff practically did nothing beyond asking what we wanted & bringing our plates, which is the bare minimum. On top of that, we were repeatedly pressured to leave a tip despite the fact that the service did not justify one.
Overall, this was a huge disappointment, especially considering I used to come here often. Between the poor-quality food, flavorless soup, bones in the General Tao, & the pressure to tip for minimal service, I genuinely cannot recommend this place anymore.
If you're considering going here, I would honestly save your money & go somewhere else. There are plenty of better options that will give you better food & actually make you feel like a valued customer.
Grazie mille Oh Umplings! Siamo stati davvero benissimo, a presto ❤?😍✨
I gave tips but the lady forced me to give more .even it is illegal in Quebec to force the client. The tips is an option. Even she did not give me the receipt. She was so rude. I am not going there anymore
Everytime I go to Montreal, I eat there atleast once & I'm NEVER disappointed.
We went at around 7pm & there was lots of people, but only one waitress! She was still super sweet & quick:) We were seated as soon as we entered & our orders arrived super quick too!
I always order the dumplings, they're hand-made, juicy, soft skin, & the sauce that comes with them is super good!
The staff was incredibly rude & literally yelled at my mom & me the moment we walked into the restaurant, simply because we didn't wait at the door - even though half the restaurant was empty. There was absolutely no reason to speak to customers in such an aggressive & disrespectful manner.
To make things worse, there were flies everywhere, which made the whole place feel unhygienic & unpleasant. The dumplings were also bad- honestly the filling was too salty, worse than frozen dumplings from a grocery store.
Bad service, poor food, & an unpleasant environment. We felt completely unwelcome from the moment we walked in. Definitely would not recommend.
I went there today & it was extremely disappointing. We went there for dinner & had to wait a while to be seated. Servers all saw us but not even a single person welcomed us. Anyway, we didnt even get what we ordered. Only got 2 out of 3. After a while when we checked with the server, he said it will come soon but still nothing after waiting so long & we had to cancel the order. What we had was really small portion. Zero star for this place.
I only write reviews to compliment restaurants, but this place had the worst service we have ever received. We ordered our food & everything came out, except one of our meals. We asked politely, several times, & were told it was the next one out while we watched several plates come out of the kitchen. We were finished the meal & ready to pay, & one of our party hadn't even eaten. They were not apologetic or polite in any way shape or form. When I mentioned that it was a bad experience, she told me that if I cannot wait for my food then I'm not welcome there. Staff had horrible attitude, this restaurant treats customers like cattle. Many better places in Chinatown.
