Review Summary

Oh! Dumplings is widely praised for generous portions and good value, with handmade dumplings that many describe as fresh and flavorful and a menu offering a lot of variety at modest prices. The dumplings are often the star, noted for tasty fillings and homemade wrappers, while soups and noodles are commonly liked and substantial in size. Service yields mixed impressions, ranging from fast, friendly, and attentive to slow and understaffed, with some guests feeling pressured about tipping or encountering inconsistent attention. A few dishes receive criticism, especially certain salads that can be too sweet or not authentic, and a small number of visits mention long waits, but several families and groups report satisfying meals and quick, reliable service on other days. Overall, Oh! Dumplings comes across as a solid, budget friendly option in Chinatown for dumplings and pan-Asian staples with hearty portions and a casual, comforting vibe.

Went to Oh Dumplings on Rue Bishop in Montreal & couldn't fault it. From the really tasty dumplings & general Tao chicken, to the side bits (sesame bean sprouts especially) & great range of drinks, everything was amazing. Add in the really attentive waiting staff & this is a place I want to go back to again & again.

My partner & I went on a Sunday afternoon, & we were served by a pleasant young waitress. We ordered the spicy beef & peanut soup --a definite favourite of ours. We also had a side of chicken & cabbage dumplings which were tasty. The prices are always easy on the pocket, which we appreciate!

UPDATE (01/13/2026)
I'm not removing my first-time review, this update is just me giving this place another chance, & this time I came with my family.

I'll be completely honest: this visit was much better. We were all satisfied & full, & I finally got to try their new special dumplings. Hot, very tasty, & perfect for the gloomy winter weather. There was almost no wait, & the food came out within just a few minutes.

Unfortunately, my family didn't get to try their fried rice because the chef who makes it was on break/vacation. But overall, my family was happy & satisfied, & for that reason I'm increasing my star rating.

Definitely a better experience this time around!

(First Review / First Experience) ★★★☆☆
We decided to try Oh Dumplings in Chinatown, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.
First thing to point out the service was very slow. We took into consideration that there were other people at the restaurant, but the delays were still hard to justify. Our order included Beef & Coriander Dumplings, Fish & Coriander Dumplings, General Tao Chicken, Chicken Noodles, Vegetable Fried Rice, & Wonton Soup.

The dumplings came out after about 15-20 minutes, followed by the General Tao shortly after. But then, we waited around 40-45 minutes for the rest of our food. By the time the noodles & fried rice arrived, we had already finished the dumplings & General Tao, sitting at an empty table for almost an hour just waiting for the rest. At that point, we honestly lost our appetite.

The food itself is okay nothing mind-blowing but decent. The dumplings were flavorful, especially with the coriander touch. The General Tao was on the sweeter side, which may not be for everyone. The fried rice & noodles were fine, but after waiting so long, we didn't really enjoy them as much as we could have.

Overall if you have patience & time to spare, the food is passable, but nothing about the taste justifies that long of a wait. We likely won't be returning anytime soon unless they improve the service speed.

This is our go to when we are in the area!!! The dumplings are so tasty, the beef fried noodles are yummy. Always very satisfying, fast & great service. Just the water jugs are a bit sketchy.

Right in the middle of Chinatown, price is all right, paid around 50$ total for two appetizers & two fried dumplings, potato salad & the shallots pancake were great, the pork & leek dumplings were really tasty, less of a fan of the egg leek & shrimp, both of them missed a bit of salt in my opinion but overall happy with it!

We came here with our children for lunch. The portions are good & food is tasty. We came 2pm on a Wednesday & its was very quiet. Only 2 other customers. The salt & pepper shrimps were awesome. Chicken stir- fried noddles were great portion & kids enjoyed them. We got the chicken & chive dumplings. They were great. The chicken & cabbage ones were OK. We would recommend this place.

The best dumpling I had in Montreal. The skin is so thin, filling inside is super tasty. Display is not as fensy as others but their food is definitely worth. MUST COME!!!

Being a dumpling fan, I had to try this place (has been open for approx. 1yr). You can view the menu online, there's is alot of other options if your not a dumpling kinda person.
We had (15) steamed chicken & coriander dumplings, (15) pan fried(one sided) pork & chinese cabbage dumplings & a side (wich could be a entree because it's huge) of cold spicy noodle salad (cucumbers, chinese watermelon, egg, rice noodles). All of it was delicious! First off, 15 dumplings for 10-12$ is a great value. The stuffing was juicy & tasty, far from some bland dumplings I've had out there. The cold noodle salad sounds weird, you imagine a cold plate of naked spaghetti, but it's completly the opposite, tasty, saucy, spicy, lots of vegs.
The bathroom is a hike up four flights of stairs so not exactly convenient for the elderly or children.
My only complaint is the service. Waiter only speaks english, he never came around to fill up our water glasses, nor did he offer a fork (could have been useful for noodles), we never got extra napkins.
I will definetely go back for the pan fried dumplings & try out some other noodle flavors.
