Franchement, si vous hésitiez à essayer l'expérience… je vous la recommande fortement! Excellent service à la clientèle, toute l'équipe est gentille & agréable avec une bonne pointe d'humour. Si vous comptez y aller entre amoureux c'est parfait.
Même si vous ne voyez pas vos plats, je vous assure qu'ils sont délicieux & je vous recommande les plats surprises! Vous ne sortirez pas déçu de la cuisine & encore moins affamé. Ils sont généreux sur l'assiette également!
Quant à l'expérience sensorielle d'être plongé dans le noir… je vous assure que ce n'est pas du bluff, vous ne voyez absolument rien même en vous concentrant. Au début, c'est stressant & perturbant mais une fois habitué après 5 minutes, cela vous fera du bien & vous fera vivre de nouvelles sensations.

& donc la surprise a été géniale.
Le personnel au top au petits soins & d'une gentillesse énorme , le repas a été super bon (le fait de ne pas voir ce que l'on mange boost le goût) mais tout petit bémol pour l'ambiance: certaines personnes parlent très fort ( certainement un genre de stress-de stress) même si une personne du restaurant demanda un peu moins de son.
Conclusion: du bonheur & une belle leçon de sagesse

Une expérience incroyable. C'est vraiment dans le noir total. J'ai adoré l'idée d'avoir des entrées, plats principaux & desserts surprise. La nouriture est délicieuse. Notre serveur, Dominic, a été apprécié de tout notre groupe. Définitivement une expérience à vivre.
We had an amazing time at O'Noir. The experience was very unique & humbling. Our food was excellent & our waiter (Mazen) was really spectacular. Two people in our party of 5 ordered'surprise' meals & were very happy with the dishes. At first, it is a little jarring but we enjoyed the opportunity to experience something new & different. An added bonus of not being able to see anything allowed us all to focus on conversation, good company, & food. It was the highlight of our Montreal trip.
An experience of a lifetime! Dark it is & you cannot see your hand in front of you face. Sophia our server was wonderful & food was delicious especially the surprise dessert. Your other senses will kick in especially hearing. It is not likely any louder than any other restaurant but you can hear conversations then as more people arrive it does become louder but it was not distracting to us as we enjoyed the smells & tastes of the food provided. I would highly recommend. Thank you Gabriel & Sophia for wonderful service!
J'ai profondément aimé cette expérience! Je suis venu avant tout pour l'expérience mais la nourriture était tout bonnement excellente.
Toute fois, il faut être prêt à mettre sa main dans son assiette. & pour vivre l'expérience jusqu'au bout, je vous recommandé de prendre le menu surprise !
Toute l'équipe est vraiment sympathique merci à Sofia de serre occupée de nous toute la soirée.
Le seul point négatif c'est que certains clients oublient que ce n'est pas parce qu'on ne les voit pas qu'on ne les entend pas, pas besoin d'hurler pour parler à une personne juste en face de vous..
An absolutely incredible experience! Dining in complete darkness was something unforgettable. The food was delicious, & I loved that there were the dishes a surprise ( & not listed on the menu) which made it even more exciting & mysterious. You're not only eating in the dark, but you also don't know what's on your plate! Really fun! I highly recommend choosing the surprise menu. Everyone should try a restaurant like this at least once in their life.

PROS: the staff is very kind & I have so much respect for the visually impaired waiters that were very attentive. The food was delicious, I got the vegetarian surprise menu & was surprised with a richness of flavours & textures. The surprise drink was also very good & I loved it.
CONS: unfortunately my experience was completely ruined by the people who attended dinner at the same room, I was with a group of 30+ people & they were EXTREMELY loud to a point where the servers need to shout to find the right person to serve, it was so disrespectful & overwhelming that I had to leave before the end of the service as I could not take it anymore. Overall being confined in a dark room for 2 hours with 30+ people shouting was not at all a pleasant experience, & I do understand that this is not the restaurant's fault.
SUGGESTIONS: since we have to leave our stuff in the locker, I think having a key attached to a bracelet or something similar would be beneficial, I didn't have anywhere to place the little key & had to attach it to my necklace not to loose it in the dark.
Also for big groups, I think it would be good to organize them in a different way, for example assigning numbers to each person, that way the servers would know more easily who to serve & wouldn't need to shout, which I felt bad for them.
Another suggestion is to have some sort of button that we can press to call for the service, as I think we were left unattended for quite long, I wanted to leave the room way before I did but was waiting for assistance, then I just decided to leave on my own & find the exit in the total darkness.
What an incredible & unique experience! From the moment we walked in we were treated with exceptional service. From the hosts in the lounge to our amazing server, Dominic, the place knows how to make customers feel valued. The food was fantastic! Pick some surprise course, it adds a fun element & you won't be disappointed. Dining in complete darkness was surreal & a challenge, but it was such a fun experience. It also makes you feel so much empathy for those that are visually impaired. No pictures to add, but definitely check this place out.
Dinner at O Noir was the highlight of our 3-day trip to Montreal! We both elected for the surprise 3-course menu, as well as surprise drinks. We expected the novelty of the experience of dining in pitch black, though there were fun additional aspects we hadn't thought about. But we didn't really know what the quality of the food itself would be...which was absolutely AMAZING! & really well-tailored to the dine-in-the-dark experience. Highly recommended for any kind of special occasion.
C'est une expérience à faire au moins une fois dans ça vie! J'ai été servi par Samy & il a été un des meilleurs serveur que j'ai eu de ma vie. Super gentil & drôle. J'ai également pris une surprise comme plat principal & j'étais au ange! Le prix est très abordable également en plus.

This place is so special. From the start, the staff was extremely accommodating & helped to make this new experience seamless for us. I had a difficult time adjusting physically to the room, but felt extremely comfortable under their care.
The food was exceptional. The cocktails were some of the best we have ever had. We chose to have a'surprise' for some of the elements of our meals, & their choices for us were out of this world. Our experience felt carefully curated rather than simply transactional like a lot of other restaurants that we are used to.
Our time at O'Noir helped to shed light on what visually impaired individuals experience on a daily basis. It affected everyone at the table in ways that they never expected. We had conversations about it for hours after, & I am confident it will continue to come up in conversation for years to come.
I will be recommending O'Noir to anyone traveling to Montreal for as long as I physically can!

Sorry - but do your research before you go. What an incredible experience & Dominic was fantastic. I've never felt so humbled while eating dinner & the real USP of this place is that it's a great equalizer between people. Me & the Mrs managed to stab, prod, dance & joke our way through dinner but what a delightly meal & cocktails too.
Yes me did the surprise dishes too, & trying to guess the dish was part of the fun.
Vraiment exceptionnel comme endroit , pour nous c'était une surprise , nous avons adoré notre repas & que dire du sourire de Sofia qui fut d'une grande gentillesse .
Notre serveur Fé était excellent, j'ai commander le menu végé & le menu dessert en surprise & les plats étaient délicieux! J'ai adorer la bouffe & l'expérience au noir.

L'expérience est fantastique! Nous nous sommes vraiment amusés à découvrir & à deviner ce que nous avions dans nos plats (nous avions pris les plats surprise). La cuisine était excellente & le service était juste parfait! Merci beaucoup, c'est certains que nous reviendrons!
Super expérience au restaurant. Nous y sommes aller entre amis & meme si les premières minutes sont déstabilisantes on arrive quand meme a profité de l'instant. Les saveurs paraissent plus intense. J'ai opté pour l'entrée & le plat surprise & aucunes déception. C'était savoureux & gourmand. Le service de Dominique notre serveur & Ambre au bar sont excellent du début à la fin
Enlightening sensory experience. Fantastic food. Ordered the duck pastry & the ravioli. Love that you can choose how many courses you want at a fixed price. Loved how they add the surprise options for meal &/or drink.
Every time I come it's great. The food is always excellent (I think this branch is better than the Toronto location). I always get the surprise vegetarian food. It was so good!
