Already the rage in Europe, Australia, L.A. and New York, O.NOIR is Canada’s first-ever restaurant that invites you to experience food, drink and conversation like never before IN THE DARK! It’s a sensual dining experience like no other. When you eat without your sight, your remaining senses are heightened to savour the smell and taste of food. O.NOIR does more than just fire the imagination and stimulate the senses. After a few hours in complete darkness (that’s right, no flashlights, matches, cell phones, cigarette lighters or luminous watches), customers gain a better understanding of what it’s like to be blind just like the restaurants’ entire wait staff. via LibroGreat experience for this blind dinner with surprises meal. Our waitress (Sofia) was really nice & really made the experience special for you. Only drawback is the noise in the room, several groups were laughing & talking very loudly which was quite annoying in the dark.

The human brain is fascinating, & what a way to explore your own perceptions! The food was also fantastic, I suggest challenging your palate as well & get the "surprise" options. Such a great experience, one that I will not forget anytime soon.

via LibroFantastic experience! We came with a large group so we had to split into two tables, but still ended up in the same room. For those wondering about the process - they sat us down at a lovely table outside to explain the menu & take our orders, & then had us go inside to use the restroom, put bags in lockers, & prepare for the dark room. When it was time to go in, our waiter Sammy came out to greet us, guided us through the two doors (you hold on to the shoulders of the person in front of you to make sure everyone gets through), & helped each of us find our seats. Sammy was a fantastic waiter, & regularly checked in to see if we needed anything, guided anyone that was uncomfortable or needed a break out of the room, & ensured we had food & drinks whenever we were ready for them. The timing was wonderful, just enough time to enjoy each course & talk to each other as we ate. When we left, a few of us wanted to go back in because it was so soothing to be in the dark. Overall this is a super unique experience that we won't forget, & well worth the cost (which is very affordable for such a great meal). I would absolutely come here again!

via LibroFood is excellent, experience is great, BUT make sure you call & ensure there aren't any large parties, especially of school children, going on the same night. My friends & I visited on a night when a class came halfway through & it ruined the experience for us. They were very loud & it made it impossible for us to hear one another or appreciate the fine dining. It's unfortunate because I think the restaurant would be a great experience for children to be able to understand just a fraction of what blind people go through, but when a whole class goes, it is just chaos.

via LibroVery unusual experience. I wouldn't say the food was the best I've ever had (I had the seafood surprise), & one has to account for the environment when judging the service. I could have wished for our waiter to check on us just a little more frequently but otherwise he was very helpful navigating us through the experience. The rest of the staff was also very friendly & helpful. All that said, I encourage everyone to try this place at least once.
