Great sushi restaurant with very fresh ingredients.
Ordered the chef's appetizer plate & the salmon/tuna don. The appetizer plate was delicious, providing a selection of very different tastes & textures that were all done properly. The karaage was well season & crispy, the pickled cucumbers & eggplant provided a slight fresh & umami flavor. The salmon hand rolls were well season & perfect intro into the main entree. This appetizer is easier to share among 2 people but would be more difficult with others.
The salmon & tuna don was quite delicious, with the perfect fat content on the salmon. Both fish were cut perfectly, & went well with wasabi & the rice. The rice was well seasoned as well.
Overall, very delicious option for quality sushi in Montreal. My only drawback would be the portion sizes as they tend to be on the smaller side.View more
Very refreshing to try an authentic Japanese restaurant. This cuisine has so much to offer & Nozy does it well! Totemo oishiiii-des'View more
We ordered 3 appetizers & 2 mains. The waitress brought everything at the same time. There wasn't much thought to customer experience or trying to give a good experience. When the waitress would bring out the dishes, she didn't explain what they were. She just placed them in front of us.
The sashimi was awful as it came on a bed of warm rice. You couldn't take the freshness of the fish.
The waitress was very inattentive as well. We ordered 3 appetizers & she brought out 4. When I asked her what the fourth thing was (as we didn't order it), she pushed back saying'I remember perfectly that you ordered this' & didn't brother telling us what it was.
Overall, we left feeling disappointed & won't be retuning.View more
I enjoyed authentic Japanese cuisine prepared by a Japanese chef.
I have visited many Japanese restaurants in Montreal, but this one serves authentic Japanese cuisine that Japanese people would find delicious.
To be honest, it is a little more expensive than average, but considering that they do not use cheap ingredients & the rising cost of living, I think it is reasonable.
The atmosphere is not bad, & the food is excellent, but it is very disappointing that many reviews lower the rating with rude comments.
I think it is unfair to review other people's individuality.
Additionally, many people give one star based on personal taste preferences, which I find unreasonable. This is authentic Japanese cuisine.
If I must mention something, I agree there are a few areas where service could be improved, & I wanted to eat croquettes that felt more homemade, but overall, they deserve five stars.
You should go to a generic sushi restaurant if you claim this isn't Japanese cuisine.View more
View more
Went there recently for the omakase & enjoyed it. Sea urchin, tataki, & sashimi so fresh! Not a fan of the oyster that day though. I wish there had been a few more pieces of sashimi/tataki/sushi, didn't drink all the 3 types of sake. COD in miso tastes just the right amount of sweetness & flaky & tenderness. Beef tenderloin is pretty delicious too, the wasabi adds a special taste. Never a fan of curry but loved the curry & the texture of rice is just so right. The mochi dessert is really amazing, orange wrapped in mochi & a thin layer of sweet beans paste, such a refreshing/juicy complexe of flavour & texture!! Omakase is a fixed menu & everybody get same dishes, but it would be nice if possible to change/switch a little bit according to preference.View more
The best japanese i've had in Montreal. Their specialties are those raw seafood. It's very fresh! However, the dessert is just okay.View more
Update:
Came back here after some time.
Back then this restaurant was really good. But now quality went down. For the price we paid, i felt like it wasn't worth it. I had higher expectation for the maguro salmon don, because it was my go to in the past. Didn't taste as fresh as I was expecting.
Moreover, it looks like now they switched from bluefin tuna to just red tuna likely due to cost.View more
Came here several times throughout the years & always liked their seafood options. I tried the omakase recently & it had a wide variety of fresh seafood such as uni, snow crab & scallops.
The service was quick & the server was friendly.View more

Wow! The fish was SO fresh & tasty. Such a great hidden gem 🏆View more
Okonomiyaki wasn't great, & was included with most of our mains (chef's choice), something that should have been mentioned when we ordered it as a separate appetizer. Service was alright, but I didn't find it specifically accommodating either. Miso soup was nice. Fried foods were tasty. Eggplant was delicious. Sashimi on rice was okay, saved a little by the shallots & crispy bits. Orange wine was good.View more
My sister & I recently dined here & thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The restaurant offers a quiet, dimly lit atmosphere that creates an intimate & sophisticated ambience perfect for an evening out.
We opted to share the'Chef's Choice' appetizer platter & the sashimi seafood platter. Every slice of fish was exceptionally fresh. Each appetizer showcased thoughtful preparation.
While the service was prompt & courteous, we would have appreciated if our waitress had taken the initiative to explain the various dishes as they arrived. Instead, we found ourselves having to ask for descriptions.
Despite this small drawback, our overall experience was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant for the exceptional quality of the food.View more
Nozy is a hidden gem that brings high-quality Japanese cuisine to Montreal without the hefty omakase price tag. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or looking to explore creative Japanese flavors, this spot is worth a visit!View more
