We were very much looking forward to our first experience of this highly regarded restaurant. Unfortunately, the evening was an unexpected disappointment. Our server had little interest in us- it was 15 minutes after we had been seated before she stopped by the table to take our drink order, & only because we approached her. One drink came a few minutes later, the other did not show up until, after ten minutes, we sought her out again. For our main course, we ordered the steak. It came too rare & was incredibly tough- at $140, it was a gouge. After struggling with it fir gen minutes, we tracked down the server again to ask her to return it to the kitchen. The place has charm, & I know from friends whose view I trust that, on a good night, it provides a wonderful experience. But this night was a let down, at least for us.Voir plus

Really wanted to give this place 5 stars. Everything about the meal was excellent, until the final dish. We ordered a pork chop to share, & half of it was fat. We brought that to the attention of our waiter, who told us "that's how it's served" & proceeded to be a bit snippy the rest of the meal. Well, damn, son. Lovely bottle of wine, though.Voir plus

Dinner was at the bar served by Simon. The food was lovely & I like the option of half portion pasta as we are not big eaters. Pasta was our choice & it was fantastic - agnolotti & spaghetti. The focaccia was really good as was the cannoli dessert! Dinner here is comfortable & inviting like you were eating at a friends place! Finally a word about Simon. We left our wine dinner pairing to him & he selected well & when I spilled my wine while trying my partners pasta he immediately cleaned up & replaced my spilled wine no charge. The food & service are wonderful! I'm not sure why the feel the need to play VERY loud disco ish music. It makes it impossible to carry on a conversation. We would have stayed for dessert, but couldn't stand the deafening drum beat any longer.Voir plus
