What a fantastic Thai experience on Milton Street last night! The welcome & service were exceptional, the food was amazing. There were people lined up outside the whole evening, & no wonder! Between two of us we had the spring rolls, pad Thai & Gai Yang. Everything was perfect, I've had pad Thai in dozens of places & this was the best, no doubt. & the Gai Yang was a new discovery, super tender chicken & an exquisite fresh little sauce to accompany. We were stuffed but we had to try the mango sticky rice & I advise strongly: do not leave without having that!
Thanks so much, we absolutely loved our dinner.
Very Authentic Thai food. The owner(s) are very kind, & do a lot of work to make sure their customers are properly informed about wait times & accessibility, because it is a smaller restaurant. The husband is supporting his wife's dream 🙌🏼.
An honest review of the food - the noir wings were 10/10, best wings I've ever had. So tender, & the seasonings are packed with citrus & spice. Ate so quickly that I didn't get a picture.
The kra pow was also extremely authentic 10/10 ate so fast I didn't get a picture.
The sweet potato with red curry was very fresh, but missing some flavor, could potentially use a bit less coconut milk, it was just a bit thin 7/10.
The mango sticky rice was very delicious - warm & mango slices were cut to proper thin slices. Only suggestion is to add a pinch more salt for a stronger tertiary flavor profile 8/10.
The grilled chicken, coated in Thai spices, was generously portioned, & served with hot sticky rice & salad-it tasted fantastic! The chicken was tender, juicy, & delicious!
I recommend enjoying it as soon as it's served, while the skin is still crispy-that's when it's at its best!
What a welcome addition to our neighbourhood. The food was absolutely fabulous, possibly the best Thai food I've had, & the service was top-notch - our maître'd/owner/server Elijah was very attentive & enthusiastic. Two of us had the pad Thai, always a good dish to try, & it was spot on - not too syrupy like a lot of the fast food places, & the peanut flavour was just right. As for appetizers the gui chai was scrumptious & the spring rolls were perfect. One of our party had Gai Yang with chicken marinated for 15 hours, & raved over it. Two of us had the Thai iced tea, which was wonderfully flavoured. Then for dessert we had the mango/sticky rice offering which was amazing - they only offer it when the mangos are in season & ripe.
We really enjoyed our dinner here. We had the papaya salad, pad Thai & Hainan style chicken & the mango sticky rice. Everything was delicious & light. We thoroughly enjoyed everything & felt great after :)
Highly recommend!
An exquisite Thai dining experience. The pad thai flavour profile & texture were over-the-top quality. The service was welcoming & knowledgeable. The sticky rice with mango was beautifully crafted art, & in all ways divine. Top notch!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unbelievable hospitality & authentic comfort food!Traveling solo in Montreal for the Jazz Festival, I stumbled upon Noir Thai around 4:00 PM. Even though they were closed for a staff break, the host kindly let me sit inside. After I greeted the staff in Thai, the owner, Amy, came out of the kitchen & insisted on cooking for me right then & there! As someone who is half-Thai, finding a comforting, authentic meal on the road means everything. I ordered the green papaya salad (som tum) & the grilled pork with sticky rice. Both were absolutely incredible & hit the spot perfectly. You don't just get amazing food here-you get treated like family. I cannot recommend this place enough!
