Nikkei offers dishes created with the best Peruvian ingredients and traditional oriental techniques, leading the taste and preference of Peruvian gastronomy to foreign lands. Our goal is the dissemination of Peruvian-Japanese gastronomy.
As a restaurant, we focus on teamwork, emphasizing personal relationships, motivation and continuous training, ensuring a good working atmosphere for our employees. We contribute to the expansion of Peruvian gastronomy internationally, adding to the strength that this industry has gained in recent years
Nikkei MTL shines as a lively fusion spot where Peruvian and Japanese flavors come together in bright, thoughtful presentations and a creative cocktail program, with many guests calling the food inventive and delicious and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. The bar and service are repeatedly praised for attentiveness and personality, making for memorable evenings at the counter or dining tables. While portions and prices draw mixed notes and a few experiences mention slower pacing or occasional missteps, overall guests leave impressed by the quality, the variety of tapas style dishes, and the standout tasting menus that balance bold flavors with freshness.
Me & my girlfriend tried this restaurant, & we really enjoyed it. It's a small, cozy place with good service & tasty food. In my opinion, it's a bit pricey, but I'm not familiar with tapas places-we paid $200 including tax & tip. We shared five dishes & had two cocktails. I didn't like one of the cocktails, but they were happy to switch it for a beer with no issues. The service was great; they even explained some of the dishes, which was really cool.

It was a very nice experience, the food was excellent, the rich variety of flavors was like a celebration of the Peruvian-Japanese identity. It really made me happy. I recommend the experience.

I've been meaning to write this review for about a month now & haven't gotten around to it, but I have nothing but lovely things to say. We went in for one Nikkeironi & ended up staying because Chami was such a lovely & personable barman ! They really made the experience so much better & more welcoming. What was meant to be one drink turned into two or three & one of the most memorable experiences I've had in a bar in a long while.
A hidden gem in Montreal worth discovering. Beautifully created dishes inspired from Peruvian & Japanese cuisine. Unique dishes, great vibes, friendly service.
My friends & I wanted to try a new tapas place & saw this one had some good ratings. I must say price is Very HIGH for what it is & the food isn't that good. It's quite salty & some weird mix that needs to be worked on. I liked maybe 2 out of the 8 dishes & I am someone who likes pretty much everything in food. Drinks were fine, they tasted quite good & service was very good. Our waitress was great, attentive & nice. The atmosphere & ambiance were great too, good lighting, very clean, & nice decorations.
In a word, phenomenal. There is a certain conceit of the fusion restaurant that they might master not one but multiple cuisines. Not here. They've captured the essence of both, & provided a cocktail menu that holds its own. If only I lived closer.
