Nikkei MTL shines as a lively fusion spot where Peruvian and Japanese flavors come together in bright, thoughtful presentations and a creative cocktail program, with many guests calling the food inventive and delicious and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. The bar and service are repeatedly praised for attentiveness and personality, making for memorable evenings at the counter or dining tables. While portions and prices draw mixed notes and a few experiences mention slower pacing or occasional missteps, overall guests leave impressed by the quality, the variety of tapas style dishes, and the standout tasting menus that balance bold flavors with freshness.
We got too many of the dishes at the same time, it spoiled the taste of the cod & the beef was colder than it should have been. We told the manager afterwards & he took the feedback well.
The menu is made to be share but some of the dishes were difficult as they only bring normal cutlery instead of serving spoons, no bowl for a dish with broth.
The wine is overpriced & their selection is very small.

What a wonderful experience! Super flavorful dishes & incredibly attentive & friendly service! Especially Victor behind the sushi counter, who went above & beyond 🥹✨ I'd highly recommend the maracuya pisco which was super tasty & the cocoviche was unique & fantastic!!
Chami Johnson le bartender est trop gentil! Si vous allez manger au bar il va vous servir & vous faire des recommandations. Bon drinks & délicieuse nourriture !

J'ai passé un super moment au restaurant Nikkei à Montréal ! L'ambiance est chaleureuse & accueillante, le personnel est vraiment sympathique & attentif. & que dire de la nourriture… un vrai délice ! Les saveurs sont originales, bien équilibrées & chaque plat est présenté avec soin. C'est l'endroit parfait pour un repas entre amis ou simplement pour se faire plaisir. Je recommande vivement !
Le service était chaleureux, le resto pas trop bruyant, les plats bons & les cocktails aussi! J'ai adoré mon expérience & j'ai mangé plus qu'à ma faim! Je recommande!!
Everything about this place was fantastic! The service was impeccable, the food was even better! I had seen some hype around it on social media & finally got around to going for my birthday. We did a tasting menu & literally everything we tried was incredible! I love the fusion between the two cultures, & the menu was so perfectly curated. The quality of the ingredients is also so obvious in every bite you take. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, & I definitely will be visiting it in the future!

Capucine a défié les lois du service de restauration. Nous étions un groupe agité & elle a su asservir nos demandes & plaintes. Sans nous rendre compte, des délicieux plats & accords apparurent devant nos yeux. Je recommande ce restaurant à tous ceux en désirent d'expérience sensoriel, les épicuriens seront satisfaits.
You can immediately see the owners/chefs put their heart & soul into the place. Amazing Choripan & salad, the drinks are perfect too. Amazing amazing amazing, highly recommend!!!
Deuxième expérience chez Nikkei & cette fois-ci un peu déçus par le service. Nous nous sommes laissés guider par la serveuse qui nous a recommandé son menu carte blanche, nous avions demandé à avoir un plat de riz (le chirashi) sur les 5 proposés, elle ne l'a pas mis dans le menu & nous avions encore faim après, à 200 $ l'addition pour 2 personnes, c'est décevant. Le cocktail que j'ai commandé n'est jamais arrivé non plus alors que le restaurant était calme. La cuisine est cependant très bonne, mais notre expérience a été gâchée par le service. C'est dommage
