The bar and service are repeatedly praised for attentiveness and personality, making for memorable evenings at the counter or dining tables. While portions and prices draw mixed notes and a few experiences mention slower pacing or occasional missteps, overall guests leave impressed by the quality, the variety of tapas style dishes, and the standout tasting menus that balance bold flavors with freshness.
Je n'ai qu'une chose à dire : les pétoncles au curry. Semi-blague à part, Nikkei a été une vrai surprise, les plats sont fins fins & bien pensés. C'est riche en saveur, un peu complexe mais dans le bon sens, comme cette salade de melon d'hiver, qui avait l'air d'une salade de nouilles mais avec des beans. Audacieux, & ça paye! Le décor, avec un plafond 1920's, est en phase. Avec un super service attentionné & chaleureux de notre serveuse & de Louis, on a passé une super belle soirée.

Au départ le service fut moyen car le staff fut surpris par le nombre de clients, c'est un mardi soir. Mais rapidement le staff a rebondi & nous avons eu un super service, la nourriture est excellente & nous avons passé une super belle soirée!
Super service par Chami ! Bons conseils sur la bouffe & l'alcool ! Enthousiaste sympathique & énergique & plein de connaissances générales (merci pour les quiz !)

Disappointing Valentine's Day - Food Safety Concerns
I had hoped for a nice Valentine's Day dinner at Nikkei mtl but unfortunately, it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The service was okay nothing exceptional, but not terrible. However, the food was another story.
My dish arrived lukewarm, & something about the taste & smell seemed off. A few hours after the meal, I experienced severe food poisoning, which completely ruined the rest of the evening. This was supposed to be a special occasion, but instead, it became a nightmare.
Food safety is non-negotiable, & based on my experience, I cannot recommend this place. If you're considering dining here, be careful-you might regret it.

Nous avons passé une superbe soirée au bar en compagnie de Jérémy & Chami ! Les cocktails, en plus d'être recherchés, étaient fantastiques. La nourriture était d'autant plus délicieuse. Nous reviendrions certainement dans un avenir rapproché. Merveilleuse découverte !
