At first, everything seemed perfect. The food was tasty, & our waitress Josianne was friendly, attentive, & made us feel very welcome. We ordered the entrecôte & fish & chips + poutine. The dessert, gâteau praliné, was really good too & Josianne even gave us the name of the distributor, which we appreciated. Additionally, we were impressed by how fast the service was!
But unfortunately, things took a turn. We saw mice running around the restaurant, which was really disturbing & made us question the hygiene standards. Someone, possibly the manager, did come over to apologize for that. But for a restaurant, the presence of mice is simply unacceptable.
Then, when it was time to pay, we found out they weren't accepting gift cards due to a'technical issue.' We only learned this at the end of the meal, which was frustrating, especially since it seems the issue has been ongoing. There was no prior notice, which felt misleading & disappointing.
Overall, the experience left us disappointed. We don't recommend this location & probably won't return anytime soon.
The food was fantastic but we were given a hard time by the waitress because we wanted to share our dish. I simply wanted to enjoy the burger & my partner only wanted poutine. I didn't want to waste the extra fries that would have come with my burger as a separate dish
She said she would have to charge us a'sharing fee' of 4 dollars if my partner ate some of my food & that it's restaurant policy. I didn't like to be policed in such a way so I won't be back.
La serveuse qui décide ou tu vas t asseoir avec un menu très cher....je m excuse mais c est le client qui décide où il va s assoir...le client est ton salaire ...en plus il enlève la
salade dans ton repas ..raison ...trop de gaspillage des clients ! ....je paie ...& elle décide quoi enlever dans ton repas ! ...elle est malade !!!!!!

I love the vibe of the place & the music! The portions are good & the taste ok. The servers are very nice, but the place was kind of full & just one server… The bathroom needs love tho. & the mini pancakes weren't mini to me.
The Celine Cafe was amazing! A chocolate lover's delight. Also the smoked meat sandwich melts in your mouth! It was great service, & great food, in a cute diner setting.
Food was ok nothing great however this place was very cold not much heating. When the group of 10 I walked by 7 were wearing jackets while eating it's not normal. Plus they don't take nickels gift cards . Also bathrooms not in best of shape.
Woooow! Ça doit faire presque quarante ans que je ne suis pas entré dans un Nickels, dans le temps où René Angélil & Céline Dion ont fondé la bannière! &, de ce dont je me souviens, le menu a vraiment changé, même si la viande fumée est encore à l'honneur. Le décor.. ouf.. si vous aimez le vintage, vous en aurez plein la vue!
Thierry & sa femme sont des hôtes gentils sur toute la ligne. Le personnel souriant & pro-actif. Se retrouver en tournage pour mon émission a été un cadeau du ciel pour l'envoyer à Céline Dion. Merci beaucoup & j'adore leur repas ha ha !
