At Muru Crêpe, the cozy Totoro and Studio Ghibli themed cafe in Old Montreal draws visitors with a wide menu of sweet and savory crepes, tasty drinks, and eye catching latte art. Crepes like the creme brulee variety are repeatedly praised for light texture and rich flavor, while the matcha and hojicha lattes are popular and the whimsical decor and friendly service add to the experience, though space is small, seating is limited, and some guests note higher prices and occasional slower service during peak times.
For Totoro Fans, Muru is a must visit! The cafe is colorful, cute & cozy with themed art from Studio Ghibli's Totoro. We reached the cafe at 1.40pm in the afternoon & they close at 2.30pm. & so, the kitchen wasn't taking any more food orders but we ended up getting an iced coffee, just to spend time with the little Totoro-world in Montreal. We weren't disappointed. The staff is warm, friendly & accommodating. We will come back for the crepe!
Absolutely loved this cafe!! Food unbelievably delicious. Lattes with Totoro portrait in the foam, unbelievable!!! Totoro is my daughter's favourite film. It was such a treat to find this little gem of a cafe. I cannot recommend it highly enough!! If you are in Montreal this is a must do!! Crème Brûlée crepe was the best thing I have tasted in a long time.
We dined here with a family of six. The service, speed, & atmosphere were excellent. The banana, strawberry, & Nutella crêpes had fresh fruit in a light, flavorful roll. The crème brûlée crêpe has a delicious crêpe rolled into a cone with cream at the bottom, crème brûlée filling above that, & a delicious warm crust at the top. Le dejeuner was cooked perfectly with plenty of food to feed a ravenous teenager. The trois fromage was particularly good & very savory. We also tried the hot chocolate which was as beautiful as it was delicious. The maître d' was very nice & cheerful & checked on our table several times to make sure we didn't need anything. Overall, 10/10.
Great place for a lunch date, we tried their Crêpe Crème Brûlée & it was excellent. You could share it but you may not want to. We liked the Studio Ghibli theme especially the castle in the sky art. The service was great for french & english speakers, didnt wait long for a seat, a hidden gem of the city.
Highly recommend! This little Ghibli themed cafe is very cozy & the food is great. The chocolate hojicha is amazing. We had sandwiches & omelettes, the savoury options were great too, tho slightly smaller portion wise. We also ordered the crème bulee crepe, tapping the caramel on top was so satisfying! Would definitely come back again.

Not the most organized/ coordinated. Main crepe came out about 5 minutes prior to the dessert crepe despite asking for them to be offset. Drinks came out 20 min into eating. Overall a nice place for a fancy themed coffee. Otherwise crepes didn't standout from any other place.
one of the better tourist traps in the old-montreal area. I am actually not being sarcastic here -- the rest of the restaurants in the area are even worse (some far worse) than this one.
Nice cute little place to have crepes. They have variety of savory crepes & we really liked them. Our favorite was the creme Brule crepe. We have never had anything of that sort till now. I would highly recommend it. These place is not huge but it was completely full when we came in. The service was a little slow, coz we could see the staff was of good number but the service was pretty slow as compared to that. The restrooms were just horrible!! I hope they take some time out & make sure it's clean!! Although I would really recommend the food here. It's worth trying!
Super cute latte! & the server was super polite. Unfortunately, I felt like the crepe wasn't made fresh. Are they making them ahead of time? It was kind of cold & soggy & the fruit was sparse. I definitely recommend going for the lattes though, but the crepe is not worth the price.
The theme in the restaurant is wonderful & the staff were so kind. The food was amazing & the kids loved the J'Adore & we enjoyed our brunch & coffees.
