Review Summary

Muru Crêpe is a charming, Studio Ghibli-themed cafe in Old Montreal that has become a popular destination for its cozy atmosphere and unique decor. Visitors frequently praise the signature crème brûlée crêpe and the artistic latte designs, which are often cited as highlights of the experience. While the establishment is noted for its friendly service and delicious food options, guests should be prepared for potential wait times due to its intimate size and high demand. Although some patrons find the pricing a bit high, the consensus remains that the combination of creative presentation, welcoming staff, and aesthetic appeal makes it a memorable brunch or dessert spot for both locals and tourists alike.

Ordered breakfast for 2 & only received 1. No one checked if we were ok until I called the staff to ask about my breakfast & she said that it didn't go thru to the kitchen & asked me again what was my order so she can send it again while my
Partner was about to finish her breakfast. Also they were squishing people on small table (a small table for 2, they sat 4 people) all in all it was the worst experience ever. (To brush me off, the waitress gave me %10 discount whereas she should have comped the whole meal)

I am not sure how they shaped the art in the coffee but I love it!
I ordered the veg breakfast crep, it was good, I think adding hollandaise sauce & fetta cheese will make it better & tastier
I liked the vibes of the place & the puzzle arts in the walls, cozy & nice.

The cutest ghibli cafe in Montreal! This place is mainly for breakfast, lunch, & dessert. They have plenty of drink & food options. We tried their signature creme brulee crepe & also their matcha latte with a special totoro latte art. Everything tasted super delicious . The atmosphere is super cozy & the decorations are so cute! Theres mainly totoro stuff. Would totally recommend if you're walking around old port

Cute little café with good options for a quick breakfast. The food is tasty, but the menu & seating capacity are both quite limited, which is the only downside.

Wow, what a gem! We stopped in for breakfast while visiting the Old Port & it was honestly one of the highlights of our weekend. The service was outstanding - super personal, friendly, & so attentive, it really made us feel welcome. The crêpes were next-level delicious (the crème brûlée one was out of this world!). The coffees were perfect, & our kids were over the moon with their hot chocolates. I also tried the avocado toast with bacon & loved it - such a great combo. If you're looking for a cozy, delicious spot to start your day in Montreal, this place is a must. We'll definitely be back!

If you or someone you know is a fan of My Neighbor Totoro, this is a must-visit. The crepes were amazing & the decor was absolutely adorable, from window decorations to the blackboard to plushies & pillows on the seats. They were full when we arrived but within 10 minutes we were seated & had the best breakfast of our trip.

All-round great spot to get breakfast. Service could be slow depending on how busy it gets. For example, we arrived during a bit of a lull but 15 minutes later 4 or 5 tables arrived in quick succession. The table of two beside us left because the sole server didn't quite get to them fast enough. Nevertheless I found the service to be efficient. Would definitely return for breakfast.

We came here for breakfast as a group & had an absolutely horrible experience with one of the staff members. From the moment we sat down, he was slamming food onto our table, wearing earphones, & made no effort to engage or provide decent service. He was visibly annoyed by our presence from the start.

At the end of the meal, we EACH paid around $65 for our food - so we were far from'cheap.' One of us tipped, & despite that, he loudly said,'I know you tipped, but your friends didn't - that's really cheap. But maybe being cheap is just part of your culture.', & this was an openly racist & disgusting comment.

Tipping is not an obligation - it's a personal choice based on the quality of service. You don't get to treat people terribly & then shame them for not tipping you extra on top of it. & again, we did tip, despite the poor service.

To make matters worse, he followed us outside, continued yelling, & said we should go to McDonald's if we want to'act cheap.' We were respectful & paid full price - no one deserved that kind of treatment.

This experience was degrading, racist, & completely unprofessional. No customer should ever be treated like this, especially not after spending a significant amount of money. Avoid this place - there are far better restaurants where your presence & business will actually be respected.
