At Muru Crêpe, the cozy Totoro and Studio Ghibli themed cafe in Old Montreal draws visitors with a wide menu of sweet and savory crepes, tasty drinks, and eye catching latte art. Crepes like the creme brulee variety are repeatedly praised for light texture and rich flavor, while the matcha and hojicha lattes are popular and the whimsical decor and friendly service add to the experience, though space is small, seating is limited, and some guests note higher prices and occasional slower service during peak times.
Stopped here on my last day in Montreal & the crepes were so delicious! The staff is so friendly & even chatted with me & my daughter for a little bit. I love the cute simple atmosphere. I will definitely come back here the next time I come to Montreal!
Nice & cozy, but you might need to wait a bit before getting in! When we got there, there was a big line. But the crepes were tasty & the lattes were soooo cute 🥰
This is an awesome little spot. Super friendly service, the food is made quickly, so there's very little waiting, it's delicious & exactly as you ask for. Their coffee is also made with care & with all the modifications implemented, so there's no need to do the work yourself. The only downside is they close by 230pm... Breakfast food this good should be available all day long 😉 Highly recommended.
My partner & I had breakfast here this morning. The food was mediocre & the service was not good. Upon arriving we asked the waitress if they had any gluten free options. She said no. This was obviously not true, so we ordered an omelette with potatoes, tomatoes & fruit (all gluten free). We also ordered a croissant & two lattes. The omelette was pretty basic. The croissant was dry & tasted stale. My latte was lukewarm. I asked the waitress to microwave it. She said they don't have a microwave & will make me a fresh cup. Yet, the cup she brought back was the one I had sent back, which was slightly warmer. I don't recommend this restaurant.
Everyone else's latte art is that Totoro chinchilla, & I got this angry hamster 😂 my husband always calls me an angry hamster, what a coincidence 😃😂 nice food & atmosphere!

Would recommend. I ordered a crepe & an espresso with ice cream. Tasted better than expected & I expected it to be great the service was fantastic. The food & drinks arrived quickly. I also brought in a bottle of coke & forgot it inside when leaving & a waiter brought it out to me before I could get too far. I have it with me now. The atmosphere is also a 5. The music is well selected & at a perfect volume.
Went here on the final day of my trip to Montreal. It was really pleasant, my friend had recommended the place & the first thing I noticed was the decor. As a fan of Ghibli I really enjoyed a lot of the My Neighbor Totoro decorations. As for the food, it was my first time having a crepe & I really found it delicious. The M12 was packed which allowed me to taste almost all of the ingredients. Their matcha latte was also pretty good & I liked seeing latte art in person for the first time lol. If I ever come back to Montreal, I'd take my friends here, it was really good.
For Totoro Fans, Muru is a must visit! The cafe is colorful, cute & cozy with themed art from Studio Ghibli's Totoro. We reached the cafe at 1.40pm in the afternoon & they close at 2.30pm. & so, the kitchen wasn't taking any more food orders but we ended up getting an iced coffee, just to spend time with the little Totoro-world in Montreal. We weren't disappointed. The staff is warm, friendly & accommodating. We will come back for the crepe!
