When it comes to taste & price they are best in the game. I have not tried all of the menu but the ones I have tried are really good. I would recommend dal makhni, paneer madras, also lachha parantha.
I've both visited this restaurant & ordered delivery a few times (2-3 times so far), & it has never disappointed me. Their dal makhani is, in my opinion, the best I've had in Montreal, & the lachha paratha pairs with it perfectly. However, the butter chicken could use some improvement. Being from Delhi, where almost every restaurant serves excellent butter chicken, I found that this one didn't quite live up to those standards. That said, it's still a solid place overall, & I'd definitely recommend it for their dal makhani & parathas.
We were 4 people & had Shahi Paneer with Dal Makhni, fresh Naan, Lacha Paratha, Tandoori Roti & Mango Lassi - & I was so surprised that the total was only $47! The food tasted freshly made, especially the naan & tandoori roti which were perfectly soft & fresh, not like the frozen ones you find in some other places just for profit. The staff was very kind, hardworking & welcoming.
Overall, I think this restaurant truly deserves 5 stars for delicious food, fair prices & warm service. Highly recommended!
This is our go-to spot for group dinners. We usually order a mix of vegetarian & non-veg items, & everything from the dal makhani to the chicken curry-feels fresh & home style. You never feel heavy after eating here.
Edit (second time): The lentil soup, navaratan curry, dal makhani, tarka dal, pulao rice are out of this world!!
First time: You can tell the food is made with love & lots of effort but some dishes are very rich (buttery, creamy, oily) so you can only eat a little at a time. All the rices are made well & flavourful. Good naan too.
Been close to a decade since I first tried this place since opening, I never had left a review until now since my first visit & I wanted to share it on Google. We visit this place at least once a month if not few a times with our family & friends (other than lockdown year) from out of town. A proper authentic gourmet quality Indian food restaurant. All the food is freshly made which can take sometime especially during busy times. Over these years since being introduced to Mumbai Masala we've tried other places to compare, in different cities & countries. We also noticed over the years some menu changed here, I really miss the Bhengan Bertha & Bindi Masala but the Dhaba Style Dal-Fry & Paneer Kai Bahar is my replacement & amazing. The point of this update a decade later is after over the years trying different Indian places hands down this place is our benchmark! Each time we return & I take my first bite, I am instantly transported back to the wonderful memories & feelings upon tasting the food here like the first time. I am reminded why they are our benchmark for their ingredient quality, taste, prep, portion, their sauces & why we must continue to return to enjoy such great food at reasonable prices by this Mumbai Masala owner & the team. I really want as many people to experience it too!
I took my girlfriend & her friends for dinner, & they were beyond impressed. She couldn’t stop raving about the dal tadka, & we loved the tandoori chicken. The spices were just right. A perfect place for a authentic indian meal!
If you love Indian food, you'll love this restaurant! The dal makhani was creamy & flavorful, & the naan was perfect. The staff was friendly, & the restaurant has a really warm & cozy atmosphere.
