Mr Patty est largement considéré comme la référence des patties jamaïcains à Montréal, avec des patties faits maison et croustillants disponibles en poulet, bœuf et options végétariennes, souvent achetés par douzaines et réchauffables au four ou au micro-ondes; le lieu offre un petit espace pour s'asseoir et la saveur ainsi que la pâte feuilletée sont fréquemment louées, certains les jugeant les meilleurs de la ville, voire du pays; le service est apprécié mais certains avis notent des améliorations possibles; l'offre est telle que les patties servent aussi à d'autres restaurants, ce qui témoigne d'une qualité constante; les prix varient selon ce qui est commandé et restent raisonnables malgré des augmentations; le week-end proposent des soupes comme la soupe de pieds de bœuf et la soupe au poulet et il faut arriver tôt car tout peut partir; une livraison n'est pas proposée, ce qui peut compliquer les visites pour ceux qui ne peuvent pas s'y rendre.
I tried to buy coco bread for more than a year now, every time I come it's always the same thing'wi duh have'. But it's on the menu tho... & I don't know what was the issue today but they sold me unfresh patties. I'm not used to that, I kept coming back for years, even if I live at the East end of the city, because they used to sale the best patties. Maybe they still have good patties but a dozen of unfresh patties??? Come on, that's shameful & disrespectful, y'all got to do better. I guess that's a good way to keep your good customers... 🤷🏿 & I came a couple times asking for veggie patties & the lady is quick to say'wi duh have' & then few second later she goes to the back to get them. Like what's wrong with you??? Are you ok??? Maybe y'all should act like your friend at MTL Yardie, at least his good services are consistent...
I am extremely disappointed to have to leave this kind of review because Mr. Patty has been my go to place for Roti whenever I'm in the NDG area. Monday afternoon I came in to order a chicken roti, they didn't have any. Ok cool. A typical response of many Caribbean restaurants to'not have' things. All good. So I opted for 3 beef patties instead. I ate the first & only one on my commute back to find out that at the very last bites of my patty I had in my mouth a small piece of curry filled nail. The rest of the patty was flaky & smooth minced beef filling to I thought it could have been a bone but no it was a human curry stained nail. I was so grossed out that I threw it out right away & discarded the other two patties. Days later I'm still left with a feeling of disgust & disappointment that I'm still recollecting it til today. Maybe it was an accident, on their end but accident or not, when handling food nails should be trimmed. Because I'm sure no one wants to experience that.
I am very very very painfully disappointed.
I will probably never return as a customer again.
I hope they take measures to prevent this from happening again.
The best Jamaican patties in Montreal! I got every couple of months & buy a couple of dozens of chicken & beef. I freeze them individually & when either myself or my family is in the mood for 1 or 2, because to be honest 1 is never enough, we just heat them individually the oven or microwave. I mean $20 for a dozen & freshly made! You cannot go wrong. I just wish they could be a little more spicy. It does have a small sitting area.
Mr Patty is a Montréal institution. I visited again today & the customer service was wonderful. The patties are delicious & flaky. My children's favorite spot for Jamaican patties.
Best Caribbean food! They have the most delicious patties-chicken, beef, & veggie-& on Saturdays they serve cow foot soup & chicken soup 🤤 Make sure to go early because it's so good they sometimes run out!
