I absolutely loved the service. The sommelier was very informative & the wine he suggested was phenomenal. I had the boeuf tartare & the beet salad & wow, it was incredible. I will definitely go back!

I visited Motel Ontario for a birthday dinner. I had been there the previous year & remembered it being exceptional, so I was really looking forward to returning. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing.
We ordered the Aubergines Croustillantes, the Broccolini, & the Steak de Macreuse de Boeuf.
The eggplant was beautifully cooked-crispy, light, & perfectly textured. Unfortunately, that's where the praise ends. Both the eggplant & the cumin yogurt & herb sauce were very bland. Nothing on the plate really stood out from a flavour perspective.
The broccolini was fine, but the real star of that dish was the garlic-anchovy sauce served with the focaccia. It was hard to decide which was better: the sauce or the focaccia itself. Together they were absolutely delicious & by far the most memorable part of the plate.
The steak was cooked exactly to the requested doneness, which I appreciated. However, the meat itself was surprisingly lacking in flavour. Once again, the standout item on the plate was not the main attraction but the parmesan fries, which were excellent.
On a positive note, the service was exceptional. The staff were warm, attentive, & professional throughout the evening. The restaurant is also beautiful, stylish, & has a great atmosphere. I appreciate that Motel Ontario changes its menu regularly, which keeps things fresh & interesting.
That said, when I'm paying restaurant prices, I'm looking for memorable flavours. This time, most of the food felt surprisingly flat & underwhelming. Aside from the focaccia & sauce, & the excellent fries, the meal didn't live up to my previous experience, & I left disappointed.
The focaccia bread is a must, it was the best bread I've had in Montreal. The oysters, clams & gnocchi were all really good! Highly recommend this spot!!
Went for the first time today & the food was really fresh & properly portioned. The service was excellent, the staff was super friendly & attentive. They made us feel welcomed & accommodated us as best as they could. I love the atmosphere, its very cozy & relaxed. If ever you need a date night around the area, this place is worth a visit.

Dès le départ, personne n'est venu nous accueillir à l'entrée malgré le fait que ce n'était pas très occupé.
Nous sommes allés nous asseoir nous-même au bar.
Le service était très lent & non courtois (des gens arrivés après nous ont eu le temps de manger & payer avant qu'on reçoit nos plats principaux)
Nous avions terminé nos entrées depuis 20 minutes. Il a fallu que je mets les assiettes vides dans une pile plus attirer l'attention de la bus girl.
Le tartare était bâclé & avait trop de sauce pour la quantité de viande. Vous devriez réformer vos cuisiniers...
