MONO is widely regarded as a standout destination for high-quality, generously sized sandwiches that feature fresh ingredients and well-balanced flavors. Many patrons highlight the friendly and efficient service, noting that the staff often goes above and beyond to create a welcoming and community-focused atmosphere. While the menu offers a diverse range of creative options, from hearty meat-filled heroes to lighter lettuce-wrap alternatives, the consistent quality of the bread and the flavorful combinations keep customers returning. The vibrant decor and clean space further enhance the experience, making it a highly recommended spot for both locals and visitors looking for a satisfying and reliable meal in downtown Montreal.
They don't have gluten free options. They bill 2.50$ per lettuce which is their option for GF & I don't think it's worth it. I ordered chicken breast sandwich with Mozarella bread less & this is how it looked. The cashier is nice on the flip side but if you're celiac NOT worth your time.
Food:
The Paparazzi / Red Chicken Parm was a really strong sandwich. It had the comfort of a chicken parm, but with a little more personality. The breaded chicken cutlet held up well under the melted mozzarella, parmesan, marinara, pesto, roasted peppers, lettuce, & bomba. It was rich, but the peppers, greens, & slight heat kept it from feeling too heavy. The bread also worked well: soft enough to bite through, but sturdy enough to keep everything together. It felt familiar in the best way, just with a brighter, more interesting twist.
Service:
Service was easy & efficient. Everything came out cleanly & the experience was straightforward in a good way.
Summary:
Easy 5/5. A creative, well-built chicken cutlet sandwich that actually ate as good as it sounded. I'd definitely come back for this one.
We recently visited MONO Sandwicherie on Crescent Street while filming our Montreal Sandwich Challenge - & it quickly became one of our favorite downtown spots!
The atmosphere is stylish yet cozy, perfect for a quick lunch or a relaxed coffee break right in the heart of Montreal. The staff were incredibly welcoming, & we loved the personal touch from Sarah, the owner's wife, who surprised us with an extra sandwich (thank you again! ).
Everything we tried was delicious, but we especially recommend the breaded chicken sandwich - crispy, flavourful, & perfectly balanced - & don't miss their fries with homemade sauce. Portions are generous, & the presentation matches the great taste.
If you're exploring downtown or just looking for a great local café with quality food & warm service, MONO is absolutely worth a stop. Highly recommended from Discovering Destinations!
I come here multiple times a week. The owner is such a sweetheart, she knows my order by heart & is always smiling. The staff here are always friendly & efficient.
Generous portions & delicious sandwiches. Their sandwiches are HUGE & packed with flavour. I usually eat one half & save the other half for later. My favourite is the Godfather (with extra sauce). For hot options I recommend either of the two chicken cutlet sandwiches (the Poker Parm & the Paparazzi).
I was also lucky to try their homemade brownies; they're so good!
I highly recommend visiting if you're in the area! You won't be disappointed :)
Stopped in here to grab a quick lunch with some friends & had a great experience. The had various different ingredient combos to choose from or you could opt to build your own sandwich. We had the hulk, the godfather, & the chicken parm - all of the sandwiches came loaded & left us full (& happy). We sat outside on the patio which was nice to do in the summer but they have AC inside if you are looking to enjoy your sandwich away from the heat. Great place, definitely recommend.
Went there on my last day in Montreal as it had been recommended by my tour guide for tasty local food & gosh I wasn't disappointed! I only wish I had known about it sooner. Those sandwiches are point blank the best I've had in my life. I'm back home & days later I'm still thinking about that chicken parm.. As a bonus the people working there were simply adorable. The gentleman working at the cash gave me some very nice tips about the city. Will be the first place I have lunch at when I'm back in that wonderful city!!
Service was excellent, very nice owners. Clean place , amazingly fresh food. Bread was epic. Chicken amazing. Full after half my sandwich lol. Pizza chips veggie really good also if you are very hungry as a side 🙏💕Thanks for the wonderful first experience.
