Resto bar sportif avec plusieurs écrans géant, bon repas, excellent service de Celine & ambiance festive...
I recently visited Moe's in Saint-Sauveur with a few friends, & overall it was a mixed experience.
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed. Our waitress was friendly, respectful, & attentive throughout the evening. We started with appetizers, which were enjoyable. One small issue came when my friend ordered a draft beer-it arrived only about half full, & we were told the foam would settle. Unfortunately, it never really did.
For the main course, two of my friends ordered the fajitas. One absolutely loved his meal, while my girlfriend's was less impressive. The tortillas were quite stale & hard, which took away from the overall experience. On the positive side, the portion sizes were outstanding-definitely generous & great value.
I ordered the smoked meat after specifically asking the waitress if it was juicy, moist, & the restaurant's standout item. She assured me it was, so I requested the fatty cut. Unfortunately, what arrived was a medium-cut smoked meat that tasted reheated rather than freshly sliced. It lacked the tenderness & flavor you'd expect from authentic Montréal-style smoked meat. The fries, however, were excellent-well seasoned, crispy, & served in a generous portion.
Later, the waitress explained that my order had mistakenly been entered as medium instead of fatty. She was very understanding about the situation & kindly offered me 50% off my meal, which I genuinely appreciated. Her professionalism & willingness to make things right did not go unnoticed.
One downside was the wait time. We had a reservation for 5:30 p.m. & didn't leave until around 8:00 p.m., despite not even finishing all of our meals at the restaurant. Service was noticeably slow, likely because the restaurant was extremely busy.
I ended up taking my meal home but decided to give it to a homeless man on my way home instead.
Overall, Moe's has friendly service, generous portions, & excellent fries. While my experience with the smoked meat was disappointing & not what I'd consider authentic Montréal-style smoked meat, I believe the kitchen may simply have been overwhelmed by the busy evening. I'd be willing to give the restaurant another chance during a quieter time, but for now, I'd recommend skipping the smoked meat & trying one of the other menu items instead. This review is fair, highlights both the positives & negatives, & explains why you'd still consider giving the restaurant another chance.
