Food (carbonara pizzette) was awesome, atmosphere was chill, service was friendly & efficient! Special thank you to Meggie for being so amiable :)!
Tried the new Minnibar with a few friends for weekday lunch. Good coffee, decent food, & ok service. But looking at the live DJ booth, it may be more of a hit with the 5 à 7 crowd esp since there aren't too many options in the area.
Went to Minnibar for lunch & while I loved my sandwich, I was rather disappointed by the service & the matcha latte was really just milk. Despite the restaurant not being busy, the waiter seemed to be in a rush including beginning to leave while we were still ordering. Our questions also seemed like an inconvenience for the waiter, for example when we asked about drinks, it was like pulling teeth to understand what drinks we could order (there was no drinks menu at the table). The restaurant should really have a drink menu, even if the drinks are standard coffees/teas, & encourage their staff to be a bit more polite/caring.
Minnibar Review - A Fresh Gem Steps from the Bell Centre
Minnibar is the new restaurant that just opened in the Finale Condominium building, literally steps away from the Bell Centre. I've already visited twice in the last couple of weeks & can confidently say it's a welcome addition to the area.
Lunch
The daytime menu offers a nice variety: sandwiches, pastas, salads, & pizzas. I went with the chicken katsu paired with a Caesar salad & was genuinely impressed. The katsu was crispy, juicy, & full of flavor, with a thoughtful twist that makes it stand out. It's the kind of sandwich you'd expect in a much more established spot - nothing quite like it nearby. Their house coffee blend was another pleasant surprise: rich, smooth, & genuinely excellent. They open at 7am, so this might quickly become my go-to morning coffee stop.
Dinner
I returned a few days later for the evening menu. The space looks great (modern, comfortable, & well-designed), & they had the Habs game on the big screen, which added to the relaxed vibe. We ordered the chicken tenders, fries, burger, & carbonara pizza. Every single dish was delicious. What really stands out is how they take classic comfort food & give it an upscale, refined touch without losing what makes it craveable. The carbonara pizza in particular was excellent.
The service was attentive & genuinely friendly on both visits, which made the experience even better. Whether you're looking for a quick lunch, morning coffee, a casual night with friends, or a date night, Minnibar feels like it can do it all.
Final Verdict: Highly recommended. Great food, solid execution, & a welcoming atmosphere right by the Bell Centre. I'll definitely be back - probably many times.
Amazing vibe, delicious food, & great cocktails! Minnibar Montreal has a stylish atmosphere with friendly service. Perfect spot for a fun night out, definitely coming back!
Found out about this place by driving by & came for lunch. Their menu is primarily Italian with some Japanese inflections here & there. They have a full kitchen, a good cocktail & wine list, & serve coffee to go as well.
Whenever a new Italian restaurant opens, I like to order carbonara pasta to test their cuisine. It's a simple dish, but one that's shockingly easy to mess up if some small details are sidestepped. Turns out, minnibar's is one of the best I've had. The bucatini is al dente, the egg slurry perfectly creamy & yolky, the guanciale crispy, & the pecorino perfectly judged with freshly cracked pepper to boot. Everything is exactly where it should be, & I highly recommend it.
The waiter was extremely nice & attentive & I felt well cared for (though I should note the restaurant was almost empty when I visited); he explained they opened less than a week ago & are still adjusting their cocktails & some of their menu. The Creamsicle cocktail was tasty & definitely reminded me of its namesake. Surprisingly, it was quite spirit forward; my kind of cocktail, but tastes will differ & some may prefer something sweeter.
I had a very moist carrot cake with white chocolate for dessert (very good, freshly made in their kitchen) & an americano to go which was smooth with no off-notes & no acidic notes. Lastly, the spot is cute with a nice minimalist/modern decor; it's well-located within the Finale apartment building. There's a direct street entrance on Mansfield. I'll definitely be returning.
