On my last trip to Montreal, my husband & I stumbled upon a place that truly stayed with me, Ming Tao Xuan.

From the moment we walked in, it felt like stepping into a quiet, magical world. The atmosphere is calm, beautiful, & full of intention, the kind of place that immediately makes you slow down & just be present.

What made the experience unforgettable, though, were the owners. This lovely couple welcomed us with such genuine warmth & kindness that it felt less like visiting a shop & more like being invited into someone's home. You can feel the years they've dedicated to this place, & the passion they carry for what they do. There was something deeply moving about meeting them, I left feeling incredibly grateful for that encounter.

Of course, I couldn't leave without bringing some of their teas home, absolutely delicious & clearly selected with care. It's the kind of quality you don't forget.

Ming Tao Xuan is not just a tea store, it's an experience, a moment of peace, & a reminder of how meaningful human connection can be. I already know I'll be ordering more tea online, just to hold onto a little piece of that magic.

If you're ever in Montreal, this is a place you shouldn't miss.

Good selection of authentic Chinese tea. The porcelain tea set you have to be specific on what they are from, they mix Japanese & Chinese tea sets. Even so, great customer service. Worth visiting again to purchase.

Visiting Ming Tao Xuan for the first time was a delightful experience that left me feeling both relaxed & inspired. Nestled in the heart of Old Port Montréal, this charming tea house offers a serene escape from the bustling streets outside. The ambiance was warm & inviting, with an interior that exudes traditional Chinese elegance. Shelves lined with clay pots & jars of loose-leaf tea added an authentic touch, while the soft lighting & gentle background music created a tranquil atmosphere perfect for savoring tea. The service was impeccable. The staff greeted me warmly & patiently guided me through their extensive tea collection, answering my questions with expertise & enthusiasm. Their genuine passion for tea was evident, & they took the time to explain the origins & nuances of different varieties, making the experience educational as well as enjoyable. I decided to purchase 100g of Jasmine Yin Zhen, a premium white tea infused with the delicate aroma of jasmine flowers. The tea's subtle fragrance & smooth flavor were captivating, & I was impressed by the quality. The staff even offered tips on how to brew it properly to bring out its best characteristics. Overall, my visit to Ming Tao Xuan was a sensory delight, combining a relaxing ambiance, exceptional service, & a remarkable selection of fine teas. I can't wait to return to explore more of their offerings & perhaps expand my tea collection with one of their exquisite clay pots.
