Food was amazing & very reasonably priced. Atmosphere is super welcoming but the thing that stood out the most was the service. Montreal restaurants aren't really known for great service but this place is an anomaly. If you want great food & genuine GREAT service Mignon is the place!View more
I have been there about 4 times now, it's often a hit or miss, depends on the day. The food is tasty enough however the fries air on the salty side but are crispy & thin if you like that, steak came out burnt on the outside 2 out 4 times however the sauce is heavenly, the profiterole was also burnt once on the bottom, oysters are very small compared to other restaurants so not really worth the price.
Service is quite slow. It took three & half hours with a reservation for the 3 course host table, yet there were not busy as there was only 2 people at a table that already had their dishes when I came & one person at the bar.View more
We came in off the street for some apps & drinks before heading elsewhere for dinner, so we didn't get a chance to try their steak (which is their signature) so please keep that in mind with this review.
Our review: The cocktails were good, the oysters were fresh, & it is a very cute place, with nice interiors & a cozy vibe. Why only three stars? The service wasn't great. It wasn't busy or anything but our server seemed to forget about us. We would go back though to try the steak because the other reviews seem to say good things!View more
it was okay & that's all. food was ok service was meh, the boeuf tartare clearly not very fresh since they put so much toppings, plus you HAVE to grab a drink for each 12 1$ oysters you have. i don't like having sugar & mostly only drink water. even tho we grabbed food, had to order drinks to have the oysters. if you know anything about food & restauration, you know this is a tourist scam mid restaurant. wouldn't pay to eat here again. fries were delicious tho, tasted just like mcdonald's lolView more
We hosted a large group in the Negroni room downstairs & the ambiance was fantastic. The bartenders were so friendly & talented, & we were in love with the happy hour $1 oysters! Highly recommend for an intimate & vibrant party!View more

As someone who loves exploring amazing culinary experiences, I can confidently say this restaurant in the Old Port is a gem! The atmosphere was absolutely perfect-cozy, chic, & filled with that unmistakable Old Montreal charm. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was in for something special. A huge shoutout to Francesco, the owner of Felix Boutique, for helping me secure my reservation. His recommendation did not disappoint, & his assistance made the whole experience even more seamless. I started with a classic Negroni, & it was perfectly balanced-a great way to set the tone for the evening. For my entrée, I couldn't resist the oysters, which were fresh & beautifully presented. The main course, steak & frites, was hands down the best I've had in Montreal. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection, tender & flavorful, while the frites were crispy & addictive. As a serious foodie, I've tried my fair share of steakhouses in the city, & this place truly takes the crown. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, this is the spot. I can't wait to come back & explore more of the menu!View more
The espresso martini was the best we ever had. Outstanding cocktails & service. Wine expert was someone to remember! Extremely passionate & knowledgeable about their craft (wine, whiskey, etc.) & dollar oysters. Delicious, affordable & fresh. Overall thank you! Highly recommend.View more
Never had steak frites before this - now an incredibly high standard has been set. Came with a beautiful butter lettuce salad with fresh mint & tarragon. Could not have been more perfect for spring. Oysters were good but upstaged by the main. Wish I'd gone with the chocolate mousse vs. the crème brûlée (it was a bit odd).View more
Servers are pretty attentive even if it gets busy. Food is amazing ! Although on the pricier side, it's worth it for the location & food quality. They have $1 oysters during their happy hour, which is definitely worth it !View more
cute atmosphere, went for lunch & had the 1$ oysters. our server Herminie was great :)View more
Came here for 5a7 dollar oysters but stayed for the fries. Very forgettable oysters that were the size of nickels. The oysters came dry without any of their brine water. The highlight was the skinny fries that were perfectly fried; crispy snap with a soft interioView more
My husband & I had a fantastic date night in Montreal, & it was truly an unforgettable experience. Herminie was phenomenal; she welcomed us with such warmth & friendliness. We kicked things off with some delectable, fresh oysters, followed by their tartare & steak frittes, all of which were absolutely delicious! It was a flawless evening, easily a 10/10. We'd definitely love to come back.View more

Accidentally found this gem in Montreal. I was interested in Steak Frittes so decided to pay it a visit. They have oysters special from 5-7pm so we got that for a starter. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. The fries & the signature sauce were delicious. Friendly & helpful staff & amazingly cozy & relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful music. Great selection of wines & cocktails. Loved the place. Looking forward to coming back again next time I visit Montreal. Thank you for your hospitality.View more
