We tried their sister restaurants Tapeo before, so we wanted to give this a try too, especially since we had such a great time at Tapeo. This place does have good tapas, but it wasn't quite on the same level as Tapeo, even though the prices were pretty similar. We loved their Pulpo a la gallega & Secreto iberico, & their drinks were awesome, especially the Mosco Mule. But the brava sauce on their Calamares Bravas was a bit too much, & it was hard to really taste the calamari. We tried their Papas fritas, but they were just regular truffle fries, nothing special & I wouldn't recommend it.
On the other hand, their Basque cheesecake was a real letdown; it was nothing like the real Basque cheesecake from Basque Country. Looking at other tables, I think you'd be better off with their Eclair if you're looking for a dessert to finish your meal.
A tapas place in a residential area. A casual restaurant gives an impeccable service compared to a fancy fine-dining one.
We were a bit clumsy with the Spanish menu, the passionate young Elaina patiently helped us to demystify every section on the menu. Then she has suggested three choices from the Platitos Frios, three from the Platitos Calientes & one from the Platos to share as tapas, also a bio white wine to pair with. The tapas was served two by two, plates, forks & knifes were changed after every serving. The delectable paella was served at the end.
Amazing neighborhood restaurant..with strong Spanish influences/ flavours. Great place for a cocktail or shareable tapas ... the food is utterly delicious & the filtered night time vibe, at the bar, is just perfect.
First time at Mesón & it definitely landed in my top favorite tapas spots. Aside from the impeccable service, the food was just as good! We ordered the tartare de res, Atún en crosta, Paella a la Mesón & churros - eeeeeeverything was so flavorful! Will be back :)
Nous avons souper à ce resto le 28 août 2024 pour l'anniversaire de ma fille. Le service était parfait. Chacun des employés n'ayant pas manqué de souligner l'anniversaire de ma fille. Les plats étaient goûteux, bien préparés. C'est une formule tapas. Le restaurant est joli dans un beau quartier. Bravo à toute l'équipe! Je recommande sans hésitation.
Souper tapas entre amis. Excellente cuisine & beaucoup de choix ! Bon service & conseils sur quoi choisir parmi tous les choix. C'était ma deuxième fois au Mesón & j'ai adoré encore une fois.

Nous h sommes aller pour le brunch de la fin de semaine, avec pas mal d attente vu les commentaires, mais peut être trop d attente justement. Mis à part les noms sur la carte en espagnol il n y a pas grand chose de vraiment espagnol. C est pas que c est mauvais mais c est sans âme, rien de plus que n importe quel autre restaurant dans le même quartier. Je ne recommande pas & je n y retournerai pas, de tous les restaurants espagnols de Montréal le seul qui pourrait prétendre offrir un repas vraiment typique est Olé tapas a sainte Anne de Bellevue, le reste c est de l'imposture.
First time going & glad we went there. My friend had previously went for brunch & liked it. We decided to try 6 different tapas to share. Every plate was delicious. They were very accommodating with being gluten-free & dairy-free. My favorite was the octopus, the texture was perfect. We also had a wonderful attentive server. Thank you for the meal, the ambiance & the attention. Will have to go back & try more.
Ayant été chez Tapéo quelques fois auparavant, l'expérience chez Mesón fut à la hauteur des attentes. Les tapas & la paella étaient délicieux & bien préparés. Service impeccable & excellente recommandation de vin selon nos goûts exprimés. Nous y retournerons sous peu.
Excellent service, courtois & plein de gentillesse ! Deux tapas & coca (pizza espagnol) à deux & ce fût parfait. Excellent vin au verre aussi. Resto où on peut se parler sans entendre les autres ! À retourner sans hésitation !

Restaurant surfait. les tapas sont ordinaires & les desserts manquent de raffinement. Service pas particulièrement sympathique, musique trop forte. On a l'impression de payer pour le décors.
