Set in the heart of Villeray, Mesón is a casual, one of a kind bistro offering a variety of comforting and original Spanish inspired dishes. At Mesón, one can expect to be enthusiastically received by the restaurant’s young and dynamic team.
At the head of the team are the restaurant’s four owners: Victor Afonso, Sébastien Muniz, Marie-Fleur St-Pierre and Pedro Oliveira. The group shares a true love for the flavourful cooking the Iberian peninsula is known for.
The culinary experience at Mesón is enhanced by a courteous service and an appealing decor. The menu’s specialties, as combined with a pleasant atmosphere, are sure to satisfy your longing for delectable food enjoyed in the good company of friends.
Mesón is described as a friendly spot with attentive service and a convivial atmosphere that works well for groups, with crowd pleasers like Pulpo a la gallega, Secreto iberico, and a paella that many diners enjoyed, while the drinks and brunch experiences are praised for their quality. The overall impression is delicious and welcoming, though some dishes are bland or overly salty, a few desserts miss the mark, and the pricing can feel steep for portion sizes. Noise levels can be high when the place is busy, but the staff are generally helpful and keep service smooth, making Mesón a reliable option for a lively night out or a relaxed brunch.
One of the best brunches ever. Gravlax de Trucha: Trout gravlax, goat cheese whipped with pepper, herring caviar, cucumber, radish, poached egg, toast. Well located with a great atomosphere, it was so delicious & we had a great time. The menu is various & everything was so good.

Terrible experience for brunch. Food was passably good, but service was pushy & they really want to rush you out of the restaurant despite there being empty tables all around. I am a reasonable person & I understand you have a business to run, but this is really disrespectful to customers. When I expressed my displeasure about feeling rushed out, I was told we had 1:45 (we were maybe at the 2 hour mark) at the table. Would've been nice to know ahead of time. Rest assured there are many other establishments with better food & service where I would rather spend my money.

Prochaine visite : on oublie ça.
