Im here on a Monday. 5 people, 4 different meals. 2 Irish stews, a bookkeeper sandwhich(i think) & a shepherds pie & a chicken dish.
All were amazing. The sandwich was the best beef dip I've had. Irish stew was bangin!
Hit this place up. Seriously
I got absolutely trashed on fireball with apple cider coolers earlier today & ended up in McKibbin's.
I don't speak French so I ordered the shepherd's pie because it was easy to pronounce in my drunken stupor.
I wasn't expecting to be served the best shepherd's pie that I've ever eaten. It came with a side salad that was also incredible. But I could tell from the second that I laid eyes on that beautiful shepherd's pie that it was something special & boy oh boy was it ever special.
I already know I will go back to my primarily English speaking province craving a shepherd's pie that will bring me even a fraction of the joy that the one at McKibbins brought me.
I absolutely crushed that shepherd's pie & would happily do it time & time again should the opportunity present itself.
Anywho, highly recommend the shepherd's pie & the service was also incredible.
Great service. Our waitress was anglophone & was trying her best to speak french. It was great. We wanted to support her effort instead of stopping her by letting her know we were fluent in englisb. She was a lovely waitress. Food was great, kidney pie wasn't my favourite but the bangers & mash was really good. Great ambiance, & live music.
The best place to be on St Patrick's day, the steak & kidney pie was well prepared you can taste both ingredients, the veggies were crunchy & tasty & you can't go wrong with pints of Guinness

I've been to both the Bishop location many time & have now been to this (St-Laurent) location several times too. The food doesn't seem to be as good as at the Bishop location. The standard fare (savoury pies, burgers, fish & chips, wings, etc.) is decent enough but some items on the menu fall short.
The last time I was there I ordered the chowder. Waitress said it was 'amazing' & highly recommended it. It was awful. Not hot enough, tasted sour & a little 'off', seafood was rubbery(frozen perhaps?), texture was lumpy & suggested too much flour/starch was used.
I barely touched it - informed the waitress is wasn't very good. No apology or offer to replay or compensate in any way.
So in general, it's a fun atmosphere, plenty of tv screen for watching the game, sometimes the live music is quite good, decent beer selection.
