McKibbin's is an institution here in Montreal. I have been coming here for 20 years & have so many fond memories of nights out here. The atmosphere is lively & they often have live music. Even more remarkable is that they are one of the few places in the city that seems to offer happy hour specials. That seems like a rarity in 2024. I generally find the quality of the food to be consistent. They have your standard pub fare & for the most part it is usually satisfying. If you are courageous you can always try their famous Reaper wing challenge but be warned those are some very spicy wings. McKibbin's is a great option if you are looking for a pub in downtown Montreal. You're bound to have a great time while you're there.
Great music(70s, 80s & 90s classics)... nice atmosphere....good service, the staff are super friendly... good food....huge selection of drinks....overall great place to have late lunch or early dinner or just to go & have a drink/ bee
A main street pub that has something to keep you interested every night (lots of live music) . The food is above most in the area when comparing to other pub style establishments. I always enjoy the Buffalo burger & fully loaded nachos. They have daily specials that are always interesting. If they get busy be prepared to wait a little.

First time visiting Montreal & stopped in for a pint. The place is so cozy & had live music when I was there. If this was down the street from my house I'd be there all the time.
In Montreal for a week,& this bar is handy for my accommodation!Great Guinness,Pironi on tap, loved their Shepherds pie, looking forward to trying some more food on the menu.I can see myself coming here every night during my stay, the ladies serving are friendly & very efficient;plays great music,& the guy playing acoustic/harmonica tonight is very good, playing some real classics!
The draught beer is awful - both pints I ordered were flat on arrival to the table so I switched to bottles. Pity as the bar is really nice, had good music & the servers are very friendly hence the four stars.

Really good Irish Pub, Food is good irish classics ambiance is nice as well with live music every night. Service can be a little slow when they are really busy but otherwise its good all around.
We stopped in on a rainy Sunday afternoon after 3 hours of art museums. Great beer selection, very friendly service with tastes to figure out your likes from the big on tap selection - try the cream ale - & quite good house frites. An added bonus was the live music that started off with a guitar & fiddle doing Irish folk music, then joined over the next hour by two more fiddles & a piccolo/flute/whistle player. An enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. We'll be back.
It's -13°C/ 8°F outside, one of those days in Montreal where the wind is biting your cheeks & its hard to find something to warm you up. Coming into McKibbins the first thing that hits you is a warm atmosphere with good music(at least towards the end of the evening) that warms your heart. Secondly the food, in my case a wonderful Irish onion soup, warms the body & soul. It's the place to go during the Quebec winter especially, but also when ever you want a good company around you in general.
