Marven's est une institution de Parc-Extension pour une cuisine grecque généreuse et authentique, dans une ambiance chaleureuse qui rappelle une taverne familiale. Les calamars frits, les côtelettes d'agneau et le rib steak reviennent comme des favoris, accompagnés de salades et d'accompagnements, avec des portions généreuses et des sauces maison très appréciées. Le service est rapide, amical et efficace, même lorsque le lieu est très fréquenté, et l'atmosphère reste conviviale et accueillante. Le paiement en espèces et les files d'attente sont des points à prévoir, et certains avis notent des variations de qualité selon les jours ou des petits bémols sur certains plats. Dans l'ensemble, c'est un incontournable pour les amateurs de plats grecs copieux et d'un excellent rapport qualité-prix, avec de nombreux clients fidèles qui reviennent et le recommandent à leurs proches.
Clearly the reputation speaks for itself. Excellent quality on the chicken brochettes (which are thick compared to other places), the calamari & obviously the marvens sauce. theres a reason why places like this stick around, the food & quality is top notch

Chez Marven's, tout est au rendez-vous : de grosses portions généreuses, une cuisine authentique pleine de saveurs, & une ambiance intime & chaleureuse qui donne envie de revenir.
Nous étions 5 personnes & le service était rapide, sans compromis sur la qualité. Le serveur était super sympathique & attentionné, ce qui rend l'expérience encore plus agréable.
Un endroit parfait pour bien manger & se sentir comme à la maison. Je recommande sans hésiter !

Been coming to Marvens for many years, it's nice to see the familiar faces of the staff. They have excellent service, very clean place & giant portions. We've been visiting regularly for those delicious calamari, & lambchops, I think it's become our go to for delicious food. The prices are great, & you really have a fantastic atmosphere in there. The service is unmatched. They are always friendly, quick, & attentive. I've never had issues at marvens, feels like going home for a great a meal.
My family & I have been eating at Marven's for about seven to eight years now. Everytime we come to the restaurant I always get nostalgic about all the good times we have had there since I was a young boy. Marven's has always been a place where my family & I can come to enjoy amazing food & share laughs. The service is amazing, as soon as you walk through the doors you instantly get greeted by their amazing servers, not as another paying customer but as a guest in their'home'. Server's are always quick on their feet, the food always comes out in perfect intervals so as you finish eating their bread & tzatziki sauce, the salads & appetizers come out & after the main course. (They have it down to a tee). The food is phenomenal, from their delicious greek salad, to their crispy fried calamari, the juicy tender lamb chops, their pitas, chicken skewers & especially their amazingly juicy rib eye steak.
I don't usually leave reviews for restaurants but marven's has always been there for my family & I so I had to help them grow & attract more guests in hopes that those guests can build a relationship & memories with this restaurant such as I have.
This is for Marven's DELIVERY option via either UBER EATS or DOOR DASH!! I order the 2 porc souvlaki skewers with Greek salad, rice & fried potato. 1st the staff are great at getting the order done fast! 2nd the presentation is excellent, u feel like u are getting exactly what u would expect if a restaurant is treating u right when delivering food to u! the salad comes in it's own container, very nice looking, with a transparent lid allowing u to see the salad which is a nice touch, in a separate container, which again is very nice looking, u have the two pork skewers, fried potato wedges & rice nicely presented! 3rd, the food is delicious, the salad is fresh, large & excellent, lettuce, tomato, black olives, peppers, thinly sliced onion, & comes with a lovely vinaigrette. The 2 pork souvlakis skewers are perfectly cooked & tasty, the rice is perfect, the fries are tasty & also perfectly cooked (Add on a very tasty sauce that comes with it which adds a nice zest to the meal) U get a generous serving of everything. So, quick recap, quick preparation for delivery, excellent presentation, generous portions & delicious food! Highly recommend! The meal also comes with hot bread in aluminum foil.
Good to be back in Montreal & needed my fix of good Greek food. I decided to try Marven's because of their Google Maps score & it did not disappoint. Perfect Montreal Greek style with char-grilled bread, authentic tzatziki with lots of garlic, & terrific souvlaki plate with high quality ingredients (feta, pork, rice, tomatoes, etc). Their signature Marven's sauce was a surprise - really tasty - I tried it sparingly at first & then ended up pouring it all over my plate 😂. The service & atmosphere were also excellent.

Great experience at Marven's. Best calamari in town, generous portions, & a nice variety of food on the menu. Loved the service as well - friendly & efficient. Just make sure to bring cash, as they don't accept cards. Definitely worth a visit.
I had an amazing experience at Marven's - easily one of Montréal's best spots for hearty, authentic Greek food. The portions are generous & everything tastes freshly grilled: their lamb chops, mixed grill platter & souvlaki come out juicy & full of flavor. The vibe inside is warm & welcoming, almost like a cozy family tavern, & the staff are friendly & efficient. On top of that, the prices are reasonable for what you get, & the ambiance - with wood?fire grills & rustic decor - adds to the charm. If you're craving comfort food & a filling meal with great hospitality, Marven's is definitely worth the visit.
had lunch at Marven's in Montreal, & it was nothing short of exceptional. I'd heard wonderful things about the place- Anthony Bourdain himself visited, & I can now see precisely why it has earned such a reputation.
We ordered their famous calamari fry, lamb chops, & steaks, & every single dish was absolutely spot on. The calamari was perfectly crisp & flaky without being greasy, the lamb chops were beautifully seasoned & cooked to perfection, & the steak was tender, flavourful, & honestly one of the best I've had in the city.
The service was warm, attentive, & effortless in that distinctly charming way that instantly makes you feel welcome. Despite how busy they were, the staff took the time to ensure everything was to our liking, & the atmosphere felt both lively & relaxed.
It's easy to understand why Marven's is so beloved by locals & visitors alike. A truly memorable meal & the sort of place you're glad you made the effort to find.

I usually go to Marvens for their famous calamari. The restaurant is pretty consistent with menu. Most things taste the as it did 20+ years ago! I just had one bad experience with the calamari & got served a bad batch while treating my date to a birthday lunch (worst timing possible). However this Traditional Spot Is still my go to for calamari so I would still recommend it regardless of my one bad experience. Btw did mention the calamari is too good to resist!

Marven's Restaurant: A Montreal Classic Serving Up Succulent Greek Fare
Marven's is a Park Extension institution that has been serving Montrealers delicious Greek food since 1973. This family-run restaurant is known for its warm atmosphere, tasty dishes, & legendary portions.
The menu features succulent fish & meat dishes, with their steaks, souvlaki, & titanic mixed grill platter being particular favorites. The portions are so generous that they've become a talking point among diners. Few patrons are aware, but the secret sauce is that most all foods on the menu are grilled to perfection on a wood burning fire pit.
Be prepared to wait for a table, especially on weekends, as this popular spot draws a crowd eager to experience Marven's charm; whether it's their first time or 20th!
Hands down THE best calamari! We probably come to Marvens at least a few times a year even though we live in Toronto! Thanks to family in MTL who introduced us to this gem many years ago!
This is the absolute best restaurant in Montreal. Food, portioning, & appetizers are all amazing! I ordered steak & in my opinion, it's done best here at Marvens with the Greek style. Highly recommend for those who are traveling in Montreal.
Edit: I finally went back after 1 year of waiting. It is way better this time around. I would love to come back here as much as I can throughout my life.

This was our first visit to Marven's, our friend has been coming here for years. Friendly service from an iconic Montreal restaurant. I would recommend going to this restaurant if you get a chance. Good value for the money spent. Enjoy
Been to Marven's many times & every time it's been a great experience that's why I give them that rating there hasn't been once that I had to say anything negative about this place their food & their staff & service! Will recommend to anyone that loves food & great service . Calamari & gyro it's a must try if you go.
STILL ONE OF THE BEST!
I've already given Marven's a 5-star review before, but I feel the need to update it because every time I come back with my family, the experience remains just as excellent. The service is consistently great, the staff is super friendly, & even though the place gets pretty crowded at times, the atmosphere stays warm & enjoyable. Plus, parking is never a hassle you can always find a spot around the block.
Now, let's talk about the food. We had the Lamb Chops, Salmon, Steak, Chicken, & of course their signature dish the Calamari with their famous Secret Sauce. Absolutely delicious! As always, the meal starts with some bread, followed by a salad of your choice, & then your main course.
The flavors never disappoint. My family & I enjoy every visit, & it has become one of our go-to spots for a satisfying meal.
If you haven't tried Marven's yet, I highly recommend it, you won't regret it!
*edit: unfortunately like many other good restaurants the food has changed here. Not sure if it's new chefs but the food doesn't even taste like Greek food anymore. Feels salty & tastes like heavily doused in Montreal steak spice & other strange flavors. The pitas aren't even wrapped properly, like someone who never made a pita before. It's sad because the service staff is so nice & it's a staple in the community. Hopefully it will get better again like to used to be.
Always the the best chicken/porc souvlaki & calamari. When most restaurants are giving smaller portions, lesser quality, Marvens doesn't change their portions, freshness & flavors! The service is always great at takeout . Keep it up!
Very tasty food. Even with the higher prices it's still ok because you're getting real food!
They need to wrap their pitas with wax paper or something. It's a wet mess! One layer of wrapping is not enough for takeout. But still yummy!
Been eating here for years...Porc souvlaki pita or stick is great! Big portion, good flavour & lean but soft. Calamari is great when it's hot & crispy & the oil doesn't taste fishy... same goes for the fries. Chicken gyro is very good too. The lamb gyro needs improvement...they need to slice it a lot thinner & it should be leaner. Overall would definitely recommend.
