About

Marci Restaurant specializes in wood-fired sourdough pizzas that emphasize long fermentation techniques to achieve a distinctively airy and charred crust. The menu showcases a modern fusion approach, blending traditional Italian preparation methods with creative toppings that reflect a contemporary culinary sensibility. Diners encounter a selection of small plates and vegetable-forward dishes that complement the primary pizza offerings through high-quality seasonal ingredients. The interior environment prioritizes a functional and minimalist aesthetic that keeps the focus squarely on the open-fire kitchen operations. Efficient service models prioritize the rapid turnover of artisan pies prepared directly within a high-heat stone oven. This establishment functions as a focal point for those seeking a technical and straightforward interpretation of grain-based Italian fusion staples in a streamlined setting.

Review Summary

Marci Restaurant is widely celebrated for its delicious, high-quality Italian-inspired menu and vibrant atmosphere, with many patrons calling out the crispy broccoli, meatballs, and various pizzas as standout items. The restaurant is frequently praised for its excellent value, attentive service, and stylish, moody decor, making it a popular choice for both date nights and lively group gatherings. While most guests have fantastic experiences, some feedback indicates that the venue can become quite noisy, and certain seating arrangements, particularly high-top tables or bar spots, can feel uncomfortable or restrictive. Occasional concerns regarding group menu portion sizes, strict time limits on tables, or inconsistent service experiences were noted, but overall, it remains a highly recommended destination in Montreal known for its tasty, shareable plates and welcoming environment.

I've been to Marci twice & plan on going there again very soon. I should maybe try something else than the caesar salad next time, but I can't help it, this is probably the best one I've ever tasted. From the caesar anchovy sauce to the freshness of the lettuce, & most importantly the little CROUTONS BITS??? They make every bite you take a crunchy, savoury dream. Kudos to whoever thought about that.

The pizza is amazing, I always take the simplest one (tomato pie) & it's delicious. Great char on the crust & very tasty tomato sauce.

As for the desserts… God, this Bananacotta is one of the best thing I've eaten 🥹 Do not miss out on this one! A little disappointed about the Budino au chocolat tho ; there used to be a generous dose of pistachio cream with sea salt on top. Last week, it wasn't there… maybe it was only for a while? If not, please, put it back!!! 🙏🏼😭🩷

The food was great, an absolute pleasure, but the problem is the ambiance. The dining rooms are separated into three "sub rooms" that all have their own vibes. One of them is at the top of stairs, so not accessible. Two of the rooms are big & echo, & the music is too loud. Half of our meal went fine then they seated a party of bros next to us (we were two. They were 10) & then we weren't able to talk for the other half.

First time dinning at this restaurant, the food was delicious & fresh. The pizza was one of the best I've had in Montreal, thin crispy crust with fresh ingredients. The staff & service was on point, I would definitely recommend this spot!

The place is very cozy & pretty, somewhat hidden on the street which is nice. The dj that started around 8pm was great, playing relaxed jazzy house. We were placed in a bit of an awkward spot in the restaurant next to a narrow pathway that had many comings & goings. I think if we had been placed in the second room instead of the room where you enter, it would've been a better experience. As for the food, the sauce on the Tomato Pie was truly the best pizza sauce I've had in the city. Good balance of acidity & sweetness. Many wine options to choose from as well. The tables were fairly small & the pizzas were placed on top of large empty cans of tomatoes, which was just weird to me. Felt like they were trying too hard to be original & it didn't make the eating experience comfortable. As for the service, very polite, but just a tad too sure of themselves. The place feels like it needs some humility. They're clearly doing pretty well as a new restaurant & they are a little too proud. It feels more like a bar vibe as of 8pm & I would definitely come for a drink here.
