Marché Hung Phat is widely praised for fresh, affordable banh mi and a wide range of fillings, with many customers noting quick service, a casual market setting, and the option to grab takeout or dine in. The bread, house made mayo, and pickled carrots and daikon are frequently highlighted as positives, while some reviews mention thinner fillings or variable portions over time and occasional inconsistencies in service. The menu also includes soups and Vietnamese snacks, and the location near the Jean Talon Market makes it a convenient stop and a strong value in Montreal. Overall, Marché Hung Phat remains a reliable, popular choice for authentic Vietnamese sandwiches with both high praise for flavor and some concerns about portion size and consistency.

great place for a typical bahn mi, loved the freshness of the product & the service was good, there are plenty of option but just tried the sandwich, for sure will be back
Very friendly & efficient ladies working the counter! The sandwiches were fresh & delicious, the bread had a crispy exterior yet soft interior that paired well with the crunchy veggies & soft meat. Also reasonably priced at $6.95 each. They have a great variety of tasty che (ba mau, sam bo luong, suong sa hot luu & another kind I believe) & layered pandan jelly (there's no specific labels so it's a little hard to identify the products sometimes) + their iced coffee is strong enough to wake you up (& not too sweet). Overall, have been going to this place a few times & it's always been a good experience, would definitely recommend!!

Whenever I visit Montreal, this place is a must go for us. The bread is fresh, slightly crunchy on the outside & soft on the inside. Ingredients are all very fresh. The ladies take good care assembling each sandwich & evenly distributing the ingredients. Taste is unique, & is moreish. I don't know exactly what it is, probably their sauce or pate but it is so darn good! I haven't found a better place in Toronto than this. On the pricier side, but still highly recommended if you love banh mi.
A foodie experience unlike no other, sandwiches rich in flavour & taste, & staff warm & friendly. Even their store is full of amazing selections of various imported items. Would definitely come back again & recommend others to try as-well

I love Marché Hungphat, been going there for years. Best bahn mi in town, although I would say bread texture & ingredient dispersion throughout sandwich is inconsistent.
