Marché Andes feels like a welcoming Latin market with a solid restaurant area, offering a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff; the market is well organized and stocked with a broad range of imported Latin goods, while the restaurant side is praised for tasty dishes, variety and authenticity, and the connected butcher and bakery add to the convenience. However some visits report occasional freshness issues and higher prices after COVID, and service at the butcher counter can vary when a single staff member is not as cordial, though other staff generally provide excellent service. Taken together, Marché Andes is seen as a reliable go-to for Latin cuisine and groceries, with strong takeout options and a true Latin market experience.
Service in the restaurant area is not very good as the ladies behind the counter are borderline rude, even when i order in Spanish.
The prices are quite high compared to other restaurants in the area offering pupusas, & the size are also not up to par for pupusas.
The market has better service when it comes to workers, however I bought two quesadillas (cakes) & when i arrived home to eat them they were extremely dry, in edible. I drove almost 2 hours from home for this & obviously cannot simply bring them back to return them.
Plenty of other great salvadorian restaurants right down the street.
We are so disappointed with my husband. We went there bought some condiments from Peru only to find out that it is expiring the next day. They shouldn't sell it at all!! There's no way we can return it right now because we drove all the way from Ontario. Very disappointed. We will never come back again.

Marché Andes es un mercado muy agradable y, en general, el personal es amable. Los chicos de la carnicería suelen ser siempre respetuosos y atentos.
Sin embargo, en algunas ocasiones hay una mujer atendiendo en la carnicería cuyo trato resulta grosero y poco cordial con los clientes. No es solo mi experiencia: hablando con otras personas, varias han tenido situaciones similares cuando ella está atendiendo.
Sería importante prestar atención a esto, ya que cuando están los otros empleados el servicio es muy bueno, pero con ella la experiencia cambia notablemente.
Major hidden gem for Latin food in Montreal. Had no idea there were Latin establishments this old in Montreal. To my knowledge the food seems to center around Colombian & Salvadoran eats but not limited to those for a truly pan-Latin experience. This applies especially to the market section which has a variety of imported goods from down south. This a must visit for lovers of Latin food.
