This restaurant used to be one of my favorite in Montreal.
I went today with a friend & it was HORRIBLE.
First, we ordered our food with the server, only for him to come back 30 minutes later to tell us he forgot to process the order & asked what we ordered again.
Then the food takes FOREVER to come. I had to ask for an update twice.
While waiting, we were looking at the short blond haired girl with tattoos & piercings on her face make a salad. She literally grabbed, with her hand, a lettuce from a plate & ate it just before serving it to another client. I was shocked.
Then we order a tiramissu that, again, takes forever to come. We had to ask 3 different servers for it cause it never came.
Then I go home feeling nauseous, &, of course, got sick all evening. I got food poisoning from the food.
I never had an experience that bad with a restaurant in my life!
Une bonne experience, pas incroyable. Des plats bon mais qui manque d'une touche « wow ». Le crudo est submergé par la sauce, ce qui attenu le gout du poisson. Les pates ragu sont assez fade. La salade cesar & les pates au citron sont cependant tres bonne. L'ambiance en été reste tres sympathique.
A friend recommended to visit this place for our Montreal visit, it didn't disappoint! Everything tasted really fresh & delicious, & the Italian sodas were so good. The burrata & Caesar salad were standouts for us.
Service was super friendly, & the food came out really quickly. We got lucky & walked in around 6 pm with no wait, but a line started forming soon after. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!
I love this place & it's my go to for Italian cuisine. It's a joy to eat at the bar & get to know the fun loving staff. This resto reminds me of'The Big Night' 🎥 because of the authenticity of its cuisine contrasted by an unbelievably busy place around the corner & its horrific faux Italian food … only this resto is wildly successful as well. Chef really has learned to work with what is available to stay true to Italian 🇮🇹 roots (chef is an Italian national).
The Caesar salad is delicious 😋 despite it being an invention of Hollywood… the only'fake' thing on the menu, but that doesn't detract from its desirability. Wines are very well selected but I tend to focus on the Negroni 🥃 here because it's sooo tasty 😋… but it's easy to overdo it 😵?💫😵🤣
I ate here with my family. The waiter, Gabriel, was super friendly, very knowledgeable, took great care of us. The rest of the staff covered him as he got more busy. They suggested the Caesar Salad & it did not disappoint. I highly suggest getting it with the anchovies. The Bolognese was also very delicious. Finally, the tiramisu, which they gave to us on the house for some unknown reason, was the best in Montreal. They also threw in one chocolate & one pistachio cookie, which were both delicious. A must if you're in Montreal.
La burrata, la salade César & le crudo de bar étaient délicieux. Les campanelle très bonnes, mais le plat de radiatori était sans saveur. L'ambiance était correcte, mais le service était un peu décevant. Bonne qualité-prix! Six plats, quatre consommations pour moins de 200$!
